Hmm, there is a simple test to find out whether or not you are a monkey.
Would you like a banana? And also do you ever find yourself picking nits from your hair and proceeding to eat them?
Finally, do you enjoy throwing your faeces at people you don't like?
You're going to really love Windows Vista there are 7 editions. Vista Starter Edition, Vista Home Basic Edition, Vista Home Premium Edition, Vista Ultimate Edition, Vista Small Business Edition, Vista Professional Edition, and Vista Enterprise Edition.
I can't stand Windows/MSN Messenger, what I find infuriating is that if I uninstall it (it can be uninstalled by using an INI file tweak) Microsoft have reinstalled it in "critical" updates. If I want to stop it from running in the background (even after i've told it not to run at start up or in the background using the prefs) I typically have to mess around using either the registry or group policy on the local machine to stop it.
Yep, I meant not able to use the gui to make the connections etc.
Web developer express is pretty useless when you've got a couple of hundred crystal reports that are run on local machines and on a website via crystal enterprise.
That said, web developer express is pretty spiffy. Notice somewhat curiously how web developer express is the only express version able to connect via odbc/ole using the ui controls? It's as if Microsoft knew they are being beaten on the whole serverside code gui creation program front and they desperately want to get people to use their program instead...
Sorry, I meant no connecting via odbc/ole if you want to use the server explorer to drag and drop fields etc. Yes you can connect by typing in the code manually.
SharpReport? Damn, erm.. *cough* I recently convinced my boss to buy VS 2005 Pro on the merit of its crystal reports integration.. Now, be quiet about this will you old chap?
Last thing I want (my boss) to hear is how I got £800 spent for something I could have done using a free tool instead.
I'll give you a shiny coin of silver if you talk no more of it!
It's severely crippled when compared to the standard edition dude.
For example, no crystal reports, you can only connect to a sql 2005 mdf file for a database. (No connecting via odbc or ole)
That said...
The express editions (and free until november 2006) are pretty good if you're wanting to do general programming (non-sql/db) stuff.
However, let me advertise something i've used in the past Sharpdevelop which can create programs written in VB.NET, C# and C++ (requires MS Visual Studio 2003 C++ Toolkit).
Version 1.0 only has a database viewer type thing, version 2.0 (which is still a work in progress.. classed as alpha I think) is apparently at some point going to have a proper database explorer akin to VS 2005 where you can drag and drop db fields etc into a program you're creating.

There is nothing I hate more than being redirected to a call centre in India or somesuch to someone who can barely understand what I say and I can barely understand what they say. This is especially more important when i'm wanting to query a company on something complex that cannot be answered by them reading out an answer from a list of questions and answers. The moment you ask them a question that's not on their list it's headbanging against wall time as you hope to be transferred to someone in the English speaking world.
I'm not against call centres, infact curiously enough I recently got redirected to one in the USA (it may have been Canada) recently and they were able to get the answers I needed. I just hate the ones where I get redirected to a non-native English speaking country where they're reading from a script essentially.
I think the truly aggravating thing about this is that often you're on a phone line that's costing you (or the company you work for) money and the company you're calling are profiting from the call, it's actually in their best interests to get you on the line waiting longer.
You can cram more channels, plus you get consistent video quality as long as you can receive a signal, meaning no ghosting etc.
Example, whereas before you could only receive one tv channel on a single frequency with digital it multiplexes multiple channels on the same frequency.
Also, for digital recording devices it's fantastic.. for example, I own a Humax Duovisio 9200T PVR. I'm not only able to record from multiple channels at the same time to the 160GB hdd (it's got two digital tuners in it) but i'm also able to transfer what i've recorded to my computer and write it to a dvd(via USB connection).
Unfortunately it does have downsides, for example.. the more multiplexes there are the lower the bitrate for the MPEG2 stream.. meaning... on video where it gets sudden movement there is quite a bit of macroblocking.
Fortunately this only occurs on tv company frequencies that tend to have too many channels, an example of this is ITV.. they have lots of channels half of which are quite (put bluntly) crap, as a result their overall video quality suffers.
In contrast however is the BBC who seem somewhat careful in the bitrate and video quality they use.
I own the HP Photosmart 8450, the print quality is truly astounding.
It's an 8 colour (9 inks, two are black in seperate cartridges) printer.
It can do upto A4 size, prints on the glossy photo quality stuff are excellent. (I have a bunch of photos from holidays printed out on A4 and 10x15cm photo paper, HP premium plus photo paper glossy).. the grey shading also is very impressive.. ever notice the problems with lots of printers and grey colours? This doesn't have those problems. (it has grey a grey ink cartridge, 2 shades of grey and black)
My biggest gripe with the printer however is that the inks come in 3 seperate cartridges, so you get 3 inks per cartridge.. meaning whenever one cartridge runs out of a colour you'll need to buy a new cartridge (if you want to use that ink colour). Which as you can guess rakes in the cash for HP and annoys people who buy the damn things.
I'm not sure exactly why this is classed as a printer of 2005 (it was released in 2004), see here for a good review on it.
Funny, i've yet to see someone who actually admits to liking smoking.
As to enforcing opinions on others, if someone wants to go smoke i've got nothing against it. I start getting pissed off when my asthma flares up and I start coughing up blood all because some retarded moron thought it'd be a good idea to smoke around people who don't.
If you want to smoke go ahead, but don't be surprised when people like the parent get ever so slightly pissed off that money, that could otherwise be spent for actual curing of disease is spent on something that is easilly preventable by simply stopping smoking.
By the way, thanks to attitudes like yours it's the reason I have asthma. My father smoked heavilly around me when I was a kid, this was before that it was widely accepted that smoking caused lung based and other problems.
Correct, this is why a lot of EULA's end up invalidating themselves by including text which tries to absolve themselves of the law.
For example, say I get you to sign a contract that says I can shoot you dead without consequence. I then proceed to shoot you dead. Now, since you put your signature on the dotted line you'd think I wouldn't be promptly arrested, tried and convicted right? Wrong, you cannot waive your rights under the law. No matter how much people and companies like to think agreements exempt themselves from the law, they do not.
I personally think here in the UK this Sony cd and "First 4 Internet" are in breach of the computer misuse act of 1990. Just need to figure out who to contact about this breach.
I think people in the UK (me included) need to find out who in the police/government to contact and then contact them in large numbers politely telling them of "First 4 Internets" breach of UK law.
Ditto, I bought this monitor too in August. (funnily enough to replace a 17" monitor too, although that was a Belinea 103040)
The response time is excellent, you can only notice the ghosting if you're looking for it and have a sharp eye.
As to its height, i've not had any problems.. I guess it could be the height of the desk that it's on or something.
The picture (I use DVI with it) is incredibly sharp with very nice colour accuracy indeed.
As to the 6bit dac, i've only noticed it differ is when smoke grenades are used in Counter-Strike. You can see a bit of dithering, again.. if you're looking for it and have a sharp eye.

They have all sorts of plans, the least of which would make even the most level-headed person strap tinfoil onto their head and genitals.
I don't know about you, but after hearing what tinfoil absorbs i'd rather like to have children in the future thanks. No tinfoil for my love tackle.

Ridiculous!

As a correction, it is only free until November 2006.
Also, VC# Express 2005, VJ# Express 2005 and VC++ Express 2005 are available until November 2006 too.

"That is quite alright good sir, now could you please notice my large sharpened metal object and give your portable gaming device in much haste?"
Are there any lists like this for the UK?

Yes.
What I hope happens is the GTA guys do a bit of a bitch slap back at CSI, a little piss take on CSI in the next GTA game if you will...
This is my new bible.
Say hello to code that only I can understand, lets see how much my boss wants to offshore me now!
This happened whilst we weren't looking, we are the 51st state after all.
Now be quiet, watch friends and eat your freedom fries.

Gmail uses activex, with it's inherent security problems and therefore not allowed in a secure environment.
Whatever you're smoking, can we all have some please?
What needs doing?
You must find the Jade Monkey before the next full moon...

Well, maybe it's just me but I thought you could actually uninstall iTunes. (drag and drop to trash)
I also thought Apple weren't a monopoly, but I must be wrong!
I killed them all.
