As others have said before, it supposedly works with unencrypted QAM channels on Cable TV, but works best with OTA (Over the Air) HDTV. I have my own box that I am running the OS (Knoppmyth) on. I am using it for SDTV with a Hauppauge PVR-500 card and OTA HDTV with a PCHDTV HD-3000 card. It is working great; the Knoppmyth team (and MythTV, etc etc) have done a great job in bringing this all together.
I'm with you on that one. I always called it S-Q-L, and it bothered me when people called it Sequel. Unfortunately, I had to transition to calling it sequel at work, because nobody around here can spell.
If a product is labelled as beta, and they have to completely overhaul it or a severe security flaw is found. Any 'damages' can be shrugged off as "This was only a beta, use at your own risk".
Nah, it'd be more like holding a car manufacturer liable for a faulty part. Even if the part only fails in certain extreme circumstances, it is still a fault.
If the 'real world' is anything like the place I work. Standards are a dream, that will never come to be, because everyone likes do do things "their way".
Anyways. It seems to me that google is trying to reach the desktop market in a good fashion. I highly doubt they are going to create their own browser to overtake IE. They seem to be focusing on just the desktop search realm. Adding RSS and news isn't that big a deal.
I have found that spell checkers help my spelling. Maybe not the automatic ones found in modern MS Word that replace your word without asking, but ones that note your mistakes can help.
When reading over a paper without spell check, if I spelled a word wrong because I didn't know the spelling, I will still not know the spelling the second time around. With a spell checker, I will see how it is supposed to be spelled and in most cases, remember in the future.
This comes just weeks after early indications that HD-DVD will only allow playback of full 1080 resolution video signals through HDMI connectors, leaving consumers with older HDTVs (pre-HDMI) out of luck.
This could be both good and bad for HD-DVD. Film makers will like the HDMI only for the DRM capability. On the other hand, consumers who are not ready to upgrade their TV's will shun away from them. It's going to be a toss up.
Yeah, I kinda hate it, but that seems true. I hadn't bought GTA:SA yet, but was planning to, being a fan of GTA since the first game. Now that this has come out, I fear going to EB or the like to buy it, because I'm sure somebody will think I am buying it for the sex scene.
I am going to side with all the comments about it being on the parent's concience. The game shipped without the content unlocked, therefore in all intents and purposes, it was not there. If the 'minor' goes online and downloads this mod, shame on the parent for not screening the child's internet usage.
I built one myself, and for HDTV I'd say you'd need ~2.5GHz+ if you have a combined front-end and back-end. If you separate the 2 systems, the back end doesn't need that much requirements, probably just a decent speed Hard Drive, because all it does is writes the data streams to the Hard Disk.
The front-end on the other hand (The part that actually decodes and displays the data) would need a decent processor to decode the HDTV signal and the usual video card picked for Myth boxes is a GeForce 5200 because they are a decent card with no fan (quiter).
If you are trying to build one that just does analog TV signals the requirements drop a lot. A great source for information is http://mysettopbox.tv/
They already did...

A full system built with HDTV support.

It is in beta, I wouldnt be suprised to see some more features added.
They likely won't tell you if you found something on SETI.
I wish I had the freedom to search the web without 8 of the top 10 hits being porn sites if my search had any word that has been used in a euphamism.

I think they just want to see more flying chairs.
Unless all tie rods are breaking, then I guess it would fall on the designer.

Wish I had mod points...

But the checkouts will be just as slow...
Something must be wrong... No posts?

I can't think of a better reply than... "Amen"
Throw in a random "Google" for good measure.

Only because of weather in Florida, they decided to land in nice weather in Cali.
They piggyback it on a 747, the trip costs about $1 million. (Happened to visit Kennedy Space Center last week and they mentioned it on the tour.)
I heard ~$1 million.
