ISPs without comptetion(like mine in most areas) have no reason to do anything. Last 2 weeks, we had an "intermittant service outage" that left our connection nearly unusable. It was all we could do to get it up long enough to check email at times. They sent people to fix it, who just came and left a note saying we weren't home, and we needed to reschedule, without ever wringing the doorbell. Eventually I trapped one of them by opening the door for them, and they gave us the replacement modem (all they had to do).

So it looks like lots of "ISPs" will be set up there. If you have three users dail-in occasionally, you are an ISP, and therefore are immune.

How would you feel if this law is enacted, and a game that takes a political stand is made so that less people can buy it, would you consider that censorship? See, once the government starts down a slippery road, its hard for them to not go down a spur off that road.

I think there are a good number of people (me included) who are against any sort of government censorship at all. First it might be some kids San Andreas, but then it might be somebody's copy of 1984. We should have a cut-and-dried no censorship by the government policy. If a parent truly feels that their kid shouldn't be exposed to something, the should deal with it themselves, not force everyone else to follow their rules of "perfect" parentig.

As a high school student, this is the best I can come up with. However, make sure its advertised as a Security program. Perfect setup: 2 teams, one of security, one of attackers. First hour: Give them a basic introduction to security. Hours 2-4: Setup for security (they need to have certain services provided) and plan of attack and tool creation/search for the attackers. Hour 5: The big finale, the two teams face off, with the security personell allowed to make changes in settings to try to defend their system(s). Attackers win by getting administrative rights. Security wins by holding the sharks off for an hour. End: Go over what happened. And give a stern warning that taking over systems that don't belong to you is illegal. This is a perfect 6 hour thing, and will draw a large crowd, and no one will leave dissapointed.
