    My ISP just dropped the price by $10/month (to $22) and raised the speed to 400MBits up/down.

    That's a much higher margin than gasoline car makers are getting and shows that Tesla has a huge start on everybody, "special technology" or not.

    Why do american car companies insist on building stuff people can't afford anyways en masse? don't they realize that 80 000 dollar + cars are an extreme luxury, just because they live rich themselves? is it because they can't optimize their production for worth shit?

    They have years of back-orders right now, why would they sell for less?

    (and they aren't even taking orders in all countries yet!)

      because Musk sure as fuck sold the cheapo model of the 3 but can't deliver.

    Targets are being met, production is on schedule.

    Nobody alive in the USA today remembers American slavery.

    Lots of people alive today are living the pain of being unable to conceive or losing their parents.

    Nope. This is just a way to avoid you from selling your old phone.

    I'm sure they'll sell it as an "anti theft" feature though - Thieves won't be able to remove your SIM card(!)

    I don't know much about this law

    And neither does anybody else here, apparently.

    There's two main clauses:

    1) Google can't put a little snippet of text in links to news sites.

    Solution: Stop linking to them. The news sites will be back in a couple of weeks, screaming for a repeal of this law. Google will be able to charge them money for reinstatement

    2) Facebook has to check uploaded images to see if they're copyrighted

    This isn't even a problem for anybody except Facebook, so, who cares.

    Yep. Nothing says fleeing from an emergency like sitting around for half an hour waiting for their cars to recharge. Can you imagine how bad the lines for charging points would look if most cars ran on electric? Most cars would probably run out waiting in line, and it's not like you can just carry a can of electricity to recharge your car.

    When Elon's done we'll all be driving through tunnels. Hurricanes won't be a problem any more.

  16. I needed a cheap Windows system recently, and I was pleasantly surprised that an old corporate desktop with a Win7 Pro license key still activates under Windows 10.

    Will you be equally surprised when Windows 10 switches to a monthly payment model?

    Because that's the long term plan for still allowing "upgrades" from Windows 7 machines.

    I take it you haven't been inside a modern tractor?

    Most attachments are electronically controlled from the drivers cab, it all has sensors, it all needs to communicate, it all refuses to do a damn thing until you hook it up to an approved tractor.

    Printer cartridge protection is nothing by comparison.

  19. If not being able to fix them makes them worse than other tractors, stop buying them. If it's still a better tractor even after all of this, then maybe you keep buying them. It does suck, but if you keep putting money in their pockets, they'll just keep doing what they're doing.

    Most farmers already have a substantial investment in machinery that hooks up to John Deere tractors, etc. They'd have to throw all that away.

    Most of them simply can't afford to do that, no matter what the cost of continuing with John Deere is.
