  1. One Note on Microsoft Office 2007 In Linux With WINE · · Score: 2, Interesting

The only reason I would want to run MS Office in linux is for MS OneNote. Believe it or not this is actually a great piece of software for students and there is no FOSS alternative that comes close. The closest competitor is Evernote which doesn't run natively on linux either.

  2. Re:Let's bigin lobbying Adobe on Is Flash Really On 99% of Net Devices? · · Score: 1

He could also be running linux. The linux flash player is horrible. My Athlon XP 2800+ goes to 100% when viewing flash content. I don't know where it stood in windows, but that is only because it was never an issue.

  3. Really UK? Really? on UK Judge Grants Extradition Review To Cracker Gary McKinnon · · Score: 1

Why would they even consider not extraditing him? If I knew that I would get extended prison time for a felony, I too would be considering suicide.

  4. Hard Drives are cheap. on Bush's Electronic Archives Threaten To Swamp National Archives · · Score: 1

I don't understand the problem. 1tb hard drives are about 120 USD. 120*100=1200 USD. Ok, then you need backups. Either way, it is only a couple thousand dollars. What is the problem? Do the national archives need a federal bailout or something?

I wouldn't even log in to the portal. I would think that it was a horrible phishing scam to steal my passwords.

  6. National Bailout on FCC Commissioner Lauds DRM, ISP Filtering · · Score: 5, Funny

In recent news, the RIAA has appealed to congress for a national bailout. Congress realizes that they have a failing business model, but believe that if the industry was given a "couple" billion dollars everything would change.

Just let it run for a while. In the beginning the car was always tipping over, after a few minutes the car will consistently travel across the terrain. I'm assuming that if I let it run for longer it will keep going farther and farther.

  8. Re:SMOKE on Time To Discuss Drug Prohibition? · · Score: 1

I went to a funeral for a kid that died from that. It was the first I heard about the "choking game." If marijuana were legalized, the kid would still be here because he would be able to get high in a safe way.

  9. Super Mario Sunshine on New Time-Trial Maps Coming to Mirror's Edge · · Score: 1

So basically EA was sitting around playing Super Mario Sunshine and decided that the levels would be more fun if you didn't play as an obese italian plumber.

  10. Experiance on IT Job Without a Degree? · · Score: 5, Insightful

Without a degree, the only way to really get a sysadmin job would be a few years of experience, certifications, and some good recommendations/connections.

Modding an xbox 360 costs 0 dollars. All you are doing is flashing the firmware of the dvd drive. So actually, your point is moot.
Yes, it voids the warranty (unless you have skills with a hair dryer), but are you honestly too stupid to figure out what region a game plays on?
Example (The most recent xbox 360 release): Dance.Dance.Revolution.Universe.3.USA.XBOX360-APATHY
    That means region USA.

  15. Beta Tester Here on Decentralizing Bittorrent · · Score: 2, Insightful

I am a beta tester, and one thing that I do not like about eXeem is the fact that you have to know what you are looking for. One of the reason I like suprnova more, is because you can browse for the files you want. Also, eXeem is plagued with a interface not as clean as Azureas. Suprnova is better than eXeem.

  16. Personal PC? on Hacking The DS's Wireless · · Score: 1

If you could hack DS and allow it to connect to a network, than maybe you can install a pocket pc OS on DS. If you could install a Pocket PC OS, than Opera, AIM, Word, and other programs can run off of DS. This would create a super cheap pocket computer, with a touch pad (mouse)!

  17. Re:Checking POP account with Gmail? on Gmail Adds POP3 To Email Accounts · · Score: 1

You can check right now. But one thing that everyone seems to be forgetting is that before GMAIL started offering Pop3, there was a little program called "Pop goes the GMAIL." I suspect that if GMAIL started making people pay for POP3, than you could just use this program and get POP3 for FREE!
