  1. Downgrade for me on Boxee Opens Beta To All · · Score: 1, Interesting

I'm finding I liked the alpha better. One of my biggest gripes is that I can no longer tell boxee that the IMDB movie info its associated one of my files with isn't correct. In the alpha, there was a choice in the info screen of the file to say "Thats not the right info" whereupon I could choose again what movie it really was. Now I can't do that. In fact, I'm not sure what I need to do in that situation, and boxee has mislabled dozens of my files.

Plus, going closer than 500 feet to buildings or people can get you a visit from the sheriff when you land. And then later a visit from the FAA to pickup your pilot's license.

    Save yourself some money.

  9. Re:NOT a Car Replacement But Bridging the Gap on A Flying Leap for Cars? · · Score: 0

Anyone who is going to engage in fly-for-hire today is required to undergo more stringent training/certification. This is generally due to the fact that they will be carrying people, or at least cargo, for hire. Private pilots require at least 35-40 hours of flying experience, with little or no flying on instruments. To qualify for a comercial pilots license, you must have about 250 hours. Its all about experience. If you are going to fly yourself and perhaps friends and family, then a private license is good enough. If any money is changing hands, then the commercial license is needed.

  10. Re:NOT a Car Replacement But Bridging the Gap on A Flying Leap for Cars? · · Score: 0

But it will need to be at least as hard to get as a private pilots license.

Anyone who goes into the air, especially in anything close to congested airspace will need a proper license.

And, if we're talking commercial use, then a commercial license will be necessary.

Personally, I don't think this is possible with current engine technology.

While KSL clearly has an LDS influence, I find that the others do to a much smaller degree. In fact I've always found channel 2 to have something resembling an anti feeling to it. I regularly go the Bible Belt on business, and I find at least as much religion on TV there as I do here. I noticed ads for specific churches looking for business last week. I don't see that in Utah. Names on sides of buildings quite often have something to do with a person. In Utah, especially if that person is from the past, they were probably mormon. As for the beehive, thats so obscure that if you take offense, you're stretching it, IMHO.
