I understand where you are coming from but this is not a refund of money to its citizens. This is a percentage of dividend earnings from investments made by the state of Alaska for the citizens.

Please check your facts again, we do not get $3,200 annually. This year we received 2,069 for the PFD and a $1,200 energy supplement. Also FYI Alaska has the highest price of gas right now and has been for a while. I know people think we get 'free money' bla bla bla, but it really does cost more to live up here.

    Past PFD payouts
    2008 $2,069.00
    2007 $1,654.00
    2006 $1,106.96
    2005 $845.76
    2004 $919.84

It all depends on the story. The first part of the movie without speech really adds to the loneliness of the main character. I was hesitant at first as well, but was very impressed how after a few minutes I did not miss the dialog.

When you get a chance be sure to try out Zack and Wiki (http://www.zackandwiki.com/) and BoomBlox (http://www.ea.com/boomblox/). Don't let the kiddy look of Z&W throw ya off, after the first few levels the puzzles are very challenging. And BB is just one hell of a fun game to play.

I don't think the parent poster was calling AMD mutt hardware. I think they were trying to convey the point that you hit on as well, Apple is able to create a much better solution by sticking with hardware they specifically know. I think it is kinda known that you can A. have the latest and greatest, with some issues that rise up or B. stick with the 'good enough for 90% out there' that is more stable.

As a tech and long time mac user I see both sides of the coin. It would be nice to run x,y,and z on my mac at home, but then let me tell you it is so nice to be able to come home and fire up the computer knowing it is just going to work, period.
