Only they use a fake webpage to install shit, rather then using a fake webpage to take your info. The ideas the same though, most people on the web (or at least those just on it for the blogs) don't really know the difference between what looks like a professional page, and what IS a professional page. More wide spread education about the dangers of what can be found on the internet really needs to happen.
Or....maybe because the actual word is googol. Got this interesting little fact from their corporate information page. Of course, since I did get both of these links from Google, they're probably wrong.
Don't you think that'd be a little comlicated for the average AOL user? Maybe just have them talk into the air...it'd still be better then AOL's commercials.
Am I the only one that said "there's got to be a catch to this"
Of course not, but try telling explaining this to the general public. They hear "no late fees", and they think "no late fees, I can keep it as long as I want", they just don't get it. But in the end, it's not really their fault, people just need better education on all the facts. It also helps if you have a tinfoil hat and already think everybody's out to get you.
Ummmm....yeah, your point here is...what? This is a site that has links to.torrent files, hosted on other sites, while it was down, you could go and use IsoHunt. Or any other BT site. In the end, the ability of TorrentSpy to stay up has nothing at all to do with the quality of music available on the web for free.
But the next time it's posted, it will have links, but people will still post saying that's it's a dupe. No matter how many other thousand comments there are saying that it is. Because this is Slashdot, where AC's are trolls, people with mod points are trolls, and trolls are 30 year old men in their parents basements.
My first thought for a reply to this post was going to be *cough*geek*cough*, but then I realized how cool that would actually be. Rememeber, if you do make, post about here on/. 'Cause it matters.
Okay, this post wasn't OT, it was a joke. Plus, pi day was just 3 days ago, so that made it even more funny. But then again, not everyone is a math fanatic.

and they're ignorant of the internet.
Of course they are, a Democrat created the internet, why would the GOP want to embrace it?
(And yes, I hate myself for spreading the (fake) story)
I'm in favor of my home address being posted on the Internet.
Man, Slashdotters will do ANYTHING to try and meet a female, won't they?
Don't forget to re-sequence your DNA.
I don't know, that sounds a little extreme.
...I have to go shred some credit cards, change my identity, and stock up on tinfoil.
It's obvious why they wanted Linux for this project, I mean, who hasn't seen this picture.
Bet he's sorry now htat he sent those penis enlargement pill e-mails to incarcerated felons.

Why is this modded funny? It's not, it's scary. Because it's true.
Well, if movies and television have taught me anything, the saying goes "If you've built it, it'll kill you."
Or turn you into this, but that only happened once.

considering many of us think nothing about easily spending $30 on a restaurant meal.
/. would connect the ability to access to web and eating, together, both as things that "must be done".
Okay, only someone on
The PHB's or the X10 pop-ups? 'Cause with FF, I don't get any pop-ups, but with life, I get many a PHB.
