    Well, if Sony cannot adapt, it will die.
    There will be newer, more flexible media companies which will survive and thrive on the net.

    Google doesn't go to the outside of a GM dealership.
    They have a booth on the mall where you GO IN and look for adverts.
    And you can always leave their booth without being hurt when you don't care a shit about their stuff.
    Google doesn't take away anything from GM, it is an optional service.

    This was the first thing that came in my mind too!
    They blame P2P when they put sensitive data on computers accessible on the net, or just sell it outright.
    This latter could happen even if the internet wouldn't exist at all.

    If you are more interested in playing than in linux, then linux is not your OS.
    Linux (and OSS in general) is to scratch an itch, to do it yourself, and it has not yet enough people to support the next layer of users.
    The guy asked what he could do, and i answered.

    I dual boot to play windows games, but my main desktop is linux, where i work on a game port for linux.

    IMO, SoZ is the best Aurora engine based game so far (among official campaigns).
    It is still darn buggy like NWN2 games, but it is obvious the developers try and to some degree they are successful in creating a good single player game based on the AE.
    If you don't get impressed by intros, simply skip through them!

    Which would greatly advance computer sciences.

    For server based games, you can simply deny access for pirated copies.
    If your server is capable of handling the free copies, you could even let them have limited access with nag screens, messages etc. to buy the legal version.
    Just stomp down any pirate server versions of your game.
