The adapter that came with my PowerBook G4 one day sparked and burned some of its own insulation. The reason being, is I had put too much stress on that area of the cable (next to the plug that goes into the computer) over a year and it had become frayed. It was out of warranty so I bought an adapter off eBay and now I make sure to put no stress on the cable if I can avoid it.
I'd say that this could happen to any electrical device.
The anticipation leading up to WWDC left a lot to be desired.. I was expecting some great new products, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. Lame.
It looks alright, but I still prefer Mac OS X's Exposé.. mainly because you can see the entire window, just scaled down.
Does this feature in Vista show animations / videos when switching through the windows? I find it handy with Exposé since I can monitor several windows at once (for example, progress bars.. or watch a video while monitoring progress in other applications, etc.) With the 3D angle, though, I don't think it will be as handy..
These "moon plots" are great gifts for space enthusiasts. I mean, it is a novelty gift, not a true investment..
I got one of these for my aunt last holiday season and she absolutely loved it (she is a space enthusiast). And how cool is it to say that you own part of the moon?
Alright, but the readability of your message would highly increase if you typed correctly, it also enhances your point.
Regardless, this is mindless babbling and way beside the point, if you need to settle this more clearly contact me through my website (linked above).
Why not just develop some cross-platform client software as the "clicker" and transmit the answers over an 802.11g network. You get a good range, good compatibility, and many more options. This could even be used to answer open-ended questions with students simply typing their responses and clicking 'send'.
Cincinnati Bell. 3 out of 10. Crap. Crap crap crap crap crap.
I get approximately 5% of the advertised speed, while a person up the street with the same plan gets nearly 98% the advertised speed. I am supposed to receive a downlink of about 3mbps, and I get a downlink of 150kbps on a good day. Not impressed. It used to get up to 650kbps, but not anymore.. My upload speed is about twice as fast as my download speed.. I get around 256kbps upload..
Their tech support is horrible. they know nothing. They only support Windows. If you're not using Windows and IE, they assume that it is your fault that the speed is horrible, and it's a problem with your software.. Bullshit. They won't fix it, they won't attempt to fix it. They just have you go through all the crap that you've already done. They might reset your connection after about an hour, but that's all. If you e-mail them with a problem, they tell you to call them.
On-site service is expensive, especially when it is their fault. I wish I could switch to InsightBB cable, but the rest of my family refuses. I also have too many things tied to my ISP email address.. those bastards.. Grr..
Now when I make Powerpoint presentations for school, I can rest assured that it will not work when I go to present it, since my school will not install the updates to read the new file format...
Perhaps the iPhone automatically tells Google Maps where your current location (via GPS) is, and finds things nearest there?

People aren't watching movies because they're too busy finding stories to dupe on Slashdot!

Perhaps they are referring to the actual meaning of the word vista?
a pleasing view, esp. one seen through a long, narrow opening

I know that the new iPods don't come with a firewire cable, but do they still support firewire cables?
Your grammar and capitalization reveals that you are.. a high school student. Surprisingly enough, though, mine isn't as easy to see through, eh?
;)
No one is expecting to watch a 30" T.V. on-the-go, they are talking about similar video devices with 4-6" screens - the PSP is an example.
Anyway the new iPod is neat, and I'd like to see how well the video function works.
What?! Again?! I thought IE rox0red!!

It appears that I have stated the obvious! I think I'm being brainwashed already!
I, for one, welcome our brainwashing overlords!
Do you realize how long it would take to do a complete rewrite! Even with tons of people working on it, it'd take like 5 years! Oh, wait..
I already have a copy of MS-DOS.

Exactly! They also took Fast user switching, among other things.
Yet another knock-off of OS X. Jeeze..
Is that room way too small to be packed with hundreds of geeks?
