Reading over some of your comments, I see I was too hasty in my wording when trying to get one of the first comments. By "people" I mean would-be-sex-offenders. The images desensitize people (again, would-be-sex-offenders) to the act and could easily cause them to do more harm to kids.
There you go. No need to get so intensely riled up.
Wow, harsh. I should clarify that I didn't mean people will view kiddy porn as normal.
But consider that the military uses simulations of killing to train soldiers to kill. I believe the statistics are 13% of American soldiers would shoot at the enemy in WWI, and by the end of WWII it was over 90% -- in large part due to training simulations.
Simulations, even if they are not they are real, affect people's decisions. Watching TV violence desensitizes people toward violence, I'm sure even you will agree. These photos could easily have similar effects on desensitizing people.
While protecting liberties is important, where do you draw the line?
Murder's obviously illegal, and it should be for its damage to another person (and others as well). The question is how these images have a real effect on children. (Please no 'think of the children' jokes).
I tried the switch out last year when I was starting to get RSI. Despite what people say, you can mentally flip between Qwerty and Dvorak without much of a problem. I noticed my Qwerty speed slowed down some because I'd hit a wrong key occasionally, but nothing major. Just make sure you have a good two weeks when you don't need to type much else. I used this site to learn dvorak.
In the end, I really just stopped using Dvorak. I got over the beginning effects of RSI by not typing much and keeping my wrists straight when I did. Posture's important, too. But my typing speed in Dvorak never exceeded my Qwerty speed, so I just stopped using it. I can still type around 20 wpm with Dvorak, but I really don't have a use for it.
For linux users: "setxkbmap dvorak" and "setxkbmap en_US"
My sister managed to get me a ticket, too. I'd seen only a few episodes prior and thought the movie was amazing. I agree that for the main characters, though, there's little character development. Maybe it's Joss's plan to get more people into the TV series by making it necessary to see the show for a full understanding of the movie.
Yeah, that way when you write a book, I can sell it to people and take all the profit. Really, how many people who say they don't want copyright laws have worked a single day?
If this is a publicity stunt, someone in Microsoft's marketting department's getting fired. This move won't sway many to stay with Microsoft products. If anything, it acknowledges OSS as a real force in the marketplace, bringing more people consider OSS. Microsoft simply realizes that by cooperating, they can possibly use OSS to their advantage like many others have.
Man, I remember not all that long ago when someone would say "I'm gonna play nintendo" and mean any console. Nintendo just isn't getting the same respect they used to even for their older games.

Thanks for glancing at my argument. Please read it next time.

That's what I was getting at.
p.s. You should consider anger management.

Allowing these images may make people think of child sex abuse as semi-normal if they can view them at any time without any repercussions.
A viral video that benefits science?
There's a difference between a developer tinkering and a user destabilizing a binary.

You do realize the Linux kernel is heavily dependent upon patches.
If ~9 million changes people's sympathies about Microsoft, that's probably the best 9 million they've ever spent.
There's no such agency. ;)

Why would cutting power cause the the elevator to fall? The elevator would be poorly engineered if cutting the power equalizes the pressure.
You're posting from your parents' basement, aren't you.
This isn't the Nobel Prize. It's the Noble Prize. There is no Nobel Prize category for this type of thing.

Yeah, since nobody uses GIFs and JPEGs.

Windows boots in 15 seconds, too, on a supercomputer.
I'm just glad they decided to save the Hubble instead of letting it burn in the atmosphere.
The Military has conducted this study. Over and over again.

Maybe this will silence the fanboys. It's wishful thinking.
Some people use VC++ to mean C++ and MFC. I hope that's not what he means. ;)
