Sure, the game is great. But it is too damn slow. They should have a patch soon, but until then, I'm not playing it. It is just too tedious to be fun, while waiting for the AI to take its turns.
You mean it has nothing to do with being in a better time slot? I think putting it on Thursday nights has more to do with the ratings increase than anything...
What it doesn't mention is the rather important fact that if you have a joystick plugged in, the mouse doesn't do SQUAT, only the joystick does.
Don't blame this game for that -- it happens in other games. For example, I couldn't aim straight at all in GTA:VC, until I posted on a BB and someone clued me in that my gamepad was taking over...
At least he was the first one to point out the truth. If Coke were to file and/or receive a patent, it would have to describe what is in it. So far, no one has been able to figure out that unique Coke taste, because the formula is locked in a vault in downtown Atlanta, and not on file in DC.
I went to the website -- people are still actively playing this game. You should read this thread, explaining all of the user-made patches and mods that you need to go through just to make the game tolerable.
If you have to go to all of this trouble just to make the game what it should've been, it isn't worth it (and I certainly haven't tried).
The bugs? It was more than that -- it was the (lack of) gameplay. I played for two weeks, mindlessly going through the game, trying to figure out WTF was going on. When my friend asked "How is it?" I told him that I didn't know, because I didn't know what was going on, or what to do, or how things were happening. It happened to be a perfect description for a game that did nothing.
You beat me to it. I was going to say that it should've been canceled. I couldn't agree with you more -- worst game that I've ever bought that I've expected so much from. Even Black & White doesn't come close to the level of disappointment.
Don't forget Vulcan! Which, for quite a while, scientists thought was the first planet in this solar system (but, of course, what slashdotter wouldn't know that).
If he says he creating "The Room", I bet it ends up being more like "The Cubicle"...

Can I be the Skin of Evil?
If you're spending $200 on $50 software (or free, if your AGI is less than 50k) then I don't want fiscal advice from you!
$9,999? Just below the 10k level that you have to report to the Feds? At least H&R Block got that one right :)
Nah man, this guy got pwned!

Donald Trump already did this on The Apprentice, but I'm sure that they had purchased the ad space for it. I think it was for Gran Turismo...

God damn, it's a fucking GAME.
Funny how we're wasting our time writing about games and a game seller cutting jobs, then.
It sounds like you need Civilization Anonymous. No more turns.
Eh, all of the pictures are digitally enhanced, anyway...
Nope, he's just wrong.

Don't worry, this story is a dupe of a story from last week.
EA. But I'm sure that has ended today with the new Madden out. They'll simply be fired.
I thought that only old people died from gaming in South Korea?
Ah, I found the story...
I believe this happened within the last year to a guy in Hong Kong, playing Diablo II... This guy has been really been pwned.
I thought it was a kid's movie, but it shouldn't be, unless you want to subject your kids to watching tons of animals die through the march...

Well, for starters, that game came out close to three years ago...
