Right. How can a witness say she was raped, clearly enough that the defendant confessed and the officer recalls her saying she was never forced in that interview. Don't say his memory was fuzzy or anything because there is no way a fuzzy memory of maybe not recalling a woman saying she was raped should exclude her testimony. We live in a society where people either as incompetent or as biased for whatever reason can be cops. Their testimony is considered more credible than any physical evidence or the testimony of witnesses and victims.
Verizon is more horrible than that. Recently I received a 3000 dollar charge. The first time I called up they said they'd remove it. They didn't. Every other time I've called I've got a completely different explanation for what that charge is fore, each of them rediculous. I've been amazed at the things they say. For example, that they have nothing to do with that charge on my bill and anyone can charge anyone money through verizon and they have nothing to do with it(I just picked one of many examples). I'm glad I might finally get something for my crippled v710 but the evil of the company is not isolated to this. For example, my elderly neighbors phone line was cut off by verizon while installing a line in another house. It took them a month to restore service and they refuse to reduce the bill for the affected months. My friend tells me she put down a deposit for DSL. They never came to install and now claim DSL is unavailable to her. And they are keeping the deposit. I have taken out a loan for 3000 dollars to pay bullshit charges because a lawyer was going to cost me more. I hope enough people file complaints with the FTC to have someone murdered
Seeing that the the other specs are buzzwords really, I doubt it has 1TB of ram. It's probably some trade marked word they made up. For example, it says 6.8 ghz atomchip processor. But then you find out this is there word for 4x1.7ghz pentium ms. They use the word "or" to mean "in other words" here. Of course must of us know this really isn't equivilent to having one 6.8 ghz chip, though it should be fast. Also, it appears that there is no quantum technology in the ram. That's just a trademarked term for there implementation of flash memory.
what people don't seem to realize is that napster to go is compatible with 3 players. They each hold 5 gb. So you can fill a 5gb player for $15/month. It seems rather unfair to compare this price to filling a 40gb ipod for good.
I think you are quite right. You know, it's intersting because I think the same is true of ipods. It loses in terms of included hardware or features but wins in terms of usability etc. People, however buy ipods over its competitors but not the mac has such a low market share.
You don't really have to be a mac user to benifit from his work. He created(mostly) the GUI as we know it today. Some concepts were taken from Xerox but really I think that influence is exagerated. If you really look at the evolution of the GUI you'd really have to admit that this guy did at least half of the work in making them what they are today.
There's more than just tweaking. For example, you can view pictures on even the old monochrome ipods or you can record at up to very high bitrates through the headphone jack. There are a lot of games too. And of course you can do all sorts of other things with linux. So some of the features of linux are actually very significant.
yes. What I'm saying is Ramanujan had savant abilities without the handicap. He produced amazing theorums though he didn't give proofs to many of them. Also he was apable of this such as determining extroadinarily complex properties of the number of a cab. Einstein didn't have such abilities. But Ramanujan, who claimed a godess made him smart, also had amazing computational abilities that one would have classified him as a savant.
He memorized 22,514 digits of pi. I guess it is pretty stupid to consider him a genius since he hasn't really given humanity anything new. There were real geniuses who also had this type of ability (like that Indian guy who derived millenia of western mathematics and more on his own who could also do the things this savant could do. Was his name Ramujan? Something like that). I think the point is that if we could use our minds the same way he does without the handicap he has we'd be pretty much on another level
Interesting. Then I shall claim Britain is full of women who are ugly when they are naked. You can try to prove me wrong if you want in the same manner as above
True but this is much more a problem with a subscription service. If you use Hymn, you have already payed 99c for the track. You aren't really doing much other than making it so you can give a copy to your friends which you could do anyway with a cd. If you use napster you are permanantly keeping something you were only supposed to be renting. you could pay 15 dollars and get and get 5 gigs of music. Breaking fairplay will still require you to pay a little over $1000 for the tracks
I illegally stole the version that is old and british using Bit Torrent. It was old and british so I didn't get caught. But they made the movie as a mini series. I believe there were something like 12 1hr shows. Seems like they are going to have to cut a lot out though no one really wants that
Yeah but you can't use a bigger player is what I'm saying. You have a choice of 3 players, all 5g models. They are comparing the price of filling a 40g ipod with the price of filling one of three 5g players. That's misleading and I believe illegal. Here's a list of players:

Indeed, if you take a course in advanced combinatorics you find a number of surprising phenomena. if you assign 1 1 and 0 -1 and plot the sum on y axis and time on x you might think you should get a line close to the x axis that crosses it a number of times. Actually it is much more probable that the line will head away from the x axis. One can calculate the number of times you should expect the axis to be crossed. Unfortunately I cannot remember why this is true or find my notes explaining it but I am quite sure it shouldn't be amazing if you see jumps like that.
Another thing is that I believe you pay 15/month to for 5g of music. They are comparing this to the price of 40g of music on an ipod (which is stupid in the first place because you don't have to fill it with itunes store music). also rounding.99 to 1 caused them to add 100 dollars to the price of the ipod
and that is so misleading too because the ipod you are filling is 40g and the 14.95 is what you pay to fill a 5g player. also the did the math wrong and added 100 dollars to the price to fill an ipod..99 != 1
Also napsters adds are quite misleading. You can only use a 5g player yet they compare their 5g of music to ipods 40g in their ads. Also.99 *10,000 songs is 9,900 not 10,000 dollars. So you get a choice of 3 5g players and they are comparing to 40g of music on the ipod. And once you stop, as you noted, you have nothing.
The second half of this response seems to have some errors. I'd disagree, first of all, that the mac line is fading. Recently we've seen the mini and before that the imac g5 preceded by the the g5 towers. And of course tiger has been under development looking great. Second the ipod part of apple has been made a second division. Apparently everything coming up was ipod this and that so they started a new division. They did this on may 19. Here are some links:
http://www.macsurfer.com/archive/2004-05-19.html
According to rumors this division is working on other projects such as a breakout box code named meteor. If you look at the anouncements regarding macs I think if anything the mac his been evolving faster.
You know, I've seen a lot of tests where it's been shown that computers perform better in benchmarks when you buy more expensive ram even if its the same kind. If you understand the manufacturing process this makes sense. It's only a shame I'm too lazy to look up the tests and provide the URLs.
why aren't you having sex now? If you were having sex right now there'd be another child. By not having sex you are preventing this person from being alive. You murderer
Interesting. It's hard to tell but the article states that the people running the software installed by the spam company didn't know it was there so apparently there were no such agreements. Hard to tell though if it actually did get installed legally by the user not being too carefull

what its first to do is have a scroll panel. it can scroll sideways too. this isn't really all that new as mac powerbooks have been able to do this.
