  1. Re:Why all the fuss? on Update — No DRM In New iPod Shuffle · · Score: -1, Redundant

LOL, you missed the point entirely. I'ts not about the buttons on the earphones instead of the device. It was about having DRM built into the earphones, so you could only listen to songs from ITUNES and not ones you rip from your own cds or download from somewhere else. Head phones that have DRM built into them them are the perfect example of stopping innovation. Basically the general consesus around here is tha DRM is BAD, the only people pushing it are the music industry execuvites, so that they can charge you 100 times for the same song. If I forgot something some one please post it.

I loved this trailer, except for that first part, like what the hell, Kirk was a little extreme and rebelious, and I know that he came from Iowa, that's why it started out in the corn fields. WTF was that tho, he drove a car off a cliff for what reason? I think the effects looked great and all, but the car thing is totally not what I can think of as Kirk. He is more like James Bond than Evil Kinevil.

There was a scifi show a while back, I cant remember the name of it. There was a post WW3 type earth, and most people lived in few cities because anythone that chose to life outside would probably get mutated from the radiation. Everyone that lived in a city had a dna scan and a coresponding jewel implanted in thir skin, at the chest just under the neck line. The people were told that if they mated with someone of the same type jewel as them that there would be less birth defects and have a superior child or something to that effect. I haven't seen it in over 15 years.

I can't complain about the selling out, because it is hard see putting money into research, that may or may not be profitable in 40 years. I'm sure they put plenty of money into things that are pretty much useless all in the name of research. It doesn't seem that bad to me, they are focusing on nano tech, that has alot to do with physics. I'm sure that just as many breaktroughs are still going to come out of that place in the coming years, probably more practical ones too.
