For one thing did I say anything about any indians, are you singleing them out for any specific reason? I would take some russian or asian or even german engineers over the guys at apple any day, and just because you have a degree in something doen't mean you deserve to get paid a certin ammount. Also, anyone that is dumb enough to use consulants is an idiot, and especially at $600 an hour deserves to get ripped off. Maybe I didn't explain my self enough earlier, american employees in general are too spoiled, and expect too much from companies. But anyone that agreed to do a job and signed a contract to work for a company, and then thinks that they should get more because the company did well all of the sudden, is a greedy bastard and doesn't deserve a job with them.
I hate articles like this, it's a typical american frame of mind, I'm saying this because I was born in poland but have spent most of my life in the states, and I work in management. Apple doesn't have to do anything, if engineers jump ship, there are PLENTY of qualified people over seas that would do the jobs for alot less, or just keep the senior most people and take a bunch of interns in and pay them nothing. Saying someone isn't paid enough is a bad frame of mind to be in, especially right now when people should be happy they have jobs. If I hire you and we setup how much you get paid then, don't expect more if the company makes money, do you want a pay cut when we lose money, no, your not the owner/ceo or what ever of the company, your just an employee. Trust me everyone is replaceable, the only time your not, is when you literally know exactly where the bodies are buried. If someone came up to me and said they want a raise because at company X they could be making more, I'd tell them, "So that means your quiting, please leave the property now."
I still don't use a modem where I have to pick up the phone and place it on top, I've never actually seen one of those in real life, but it seamed cool when I was growing up. The flopies too, I'm not sure if there is a file that I used today on a regular basis that could even fit on one of those.
Because if the guy won, then his higher ups would be the canidate in a way, and that guy wouldn't care. If I saw some one that helped get me in office do something like that the most I think he would get would be like a week off, not 3 months, but if it was for my opponent then I'd push the max sentence. This kind of reminds me of the stuff that ex-governor Rayn's lackies did back in the day.
they just made the game harder, the first one was impossible. I got about half way trough and gave up myself, I could never beat the giant dino skeleton. It's good to hear that it will be amazing looking, not that I ever doubted that it wouldn't, I wonder what they will do in multiplayer.
I agree with your post, but just to counter point, NASA isn't a critical part of running our country, hell most of what nasa does could probably easily be taken over my the Air force, the Army howere is critical to pretty much our very existance. With recruitment rates at pretty much the lowest they've ever been the government does need a way to reach out to the younger generation that they need to make the armed forces run.
If I was EA I'd do it, work in some tax breaks with the government, do some endorsement deals with say pepsi, and probably still make enough profit to keep it running for years. I bet EA could find some devoper to make it for the 3 mil, and then the press that they would get from it would almost be worth the 3 mil alone. If they only ran add's for their own games they could make it back in a years time. Yes I know that everyone would expect this to be almost similar to WOW in scale, but I bet you could make it in flash, if you limit say 50 people to a perticular area. I think it's completely doable.
Yes, but they did the same thing during the cold war, about how the communism was horrible, and about Hitler during WW2, so it's not really anything new.
As much as you want to you don't mess with the government, yes you may be able to get one or two crooked politicans out of office, but if the federal government really wants you to do something you eventually will do it, or bankrupt because of the IRS or in jail for obstruction of justice or some other reason.
Because if you have never seen something like on the big screen or on tv, there is almost no chance of you going out any buying or renting it. Unless its christmas shopping time, and you grap like 10 dvds from the bargin bin at walmart for like $5.00 to give out as stocking stuffers.
I welcome our new overload the beast with a billion backs.
I hate to say this because I know it sounds kind of bad, but it's because then you'd be a sucker, and your only buying in ipod just for the sake of having an ipod. If your doing it that way, then buy a diffrent mp3 play and don't pay as much riaa tax.
But I don't know if it will fly, but then again, with a proper payment model to the record labels I think they may take it. I could see them say yes to having a song or album put into the unlimited use catagory once it is 6 months or a year old or something like that. I don't see them agreeing to this with new releases since that kind of is their bread & butter, find the next big thing, sell the krap out of it and move on. Apple is a big player in the music industry but I don't think they have enough power to force the record companies into anything.
I would think that any one that really wanted the beatles would already have them on their IPOD by now, probably ripped from their own cd's or from the internet. I don't really see that much of a demand for them now, when was the last record they even made anyway, I doubt that I was even born yet, and I'm now 26. Yes I understand that they were hugh at one point, but I don't really see anyone that would buy their stuff that doesn't have it already. I don't know but that's just my humble opinion, please don't flame me if I'm wrong.
So she tried to sell his stuff on ebay, ha ha that's nothing, now there would be more of a story if it said she used it to make a voodoo doll, or in some kind of ritual sacrifice so that he would suffer horrible pain. Then there would be more to the story, selling his stuff is kids stuff, almost as just like throwing it out the window or something.
Maybe it's me but I fail to see how a map so advanced that you can actually see the building you want to go to is bad. Also the whole purpose is not to monitor people, unlike the camera's that the city of Chicago is putting up at pretty much every intersection. It's not like the images from the van's are uploaded instantly and they have one on every block of the city. It really annoys me when people always look at every tech like it's going to be skynet or 1984, tech is basically to make our lives better, that some of it is used for our own survalence then thats just an unfortunte side effect.
But I really hate the mac commercials where they talk all that crap.
"I guess that mac's aren't way more secure than pc's."
But then again it's all about how stupid the user is, it's doesn't have that much to do about the system at all.
I think all each team should have to hack all 3 computers, and the first team to do so gets to pick, and then the seconed picks the next one and then the thrid gets the last one. So that equal energy goes into hacking each unit, and each team will learn something about a system they probably didn't know, and isn't that what this whole thing is about, learing something.
That's an easy answer, the PS3 is 10 times harder to program for than the 360, most people think the Cell is an 8 core chip and it trumps the processor in the 360. That's not true, the cell is a single core with 8 segments, one of is reserved and the other seven are then used, this chip is more efficent for processing stuff like SETI blocks of info or other stuff, were as the 360 processor is a tri core processor based off of power pc architexture, better for generl use, gaming and what not. The 360 proc also almost directly connected to the GPU, which is more efficent that the design of the ps3. Sony made the PS3 to sell blue ray drives, that's all the ps3 is, a dressed up BR player that can also play games, where as the 360 was made to give the best game playing experience possible.
The mayan calendar ends in 2011 or 2012, I cant remember off the top of my head, so thats supposed to be the end of the world from what conspiary theoriests say, so that means the world will end 20+ years before this ever happens, so who cares;)
Crysis for the pc, if your lucky, you'll get 30 fps.

Yes, but they did put up posters, and make kids in school watch movies on the stuff.
Yes, but they did the same thing during the cold war, about how the communism was horrible, and about Hitler during WW2, so it's not really anything new.
This is just basically an updated version of dropping propaganda phamplets from air planes, just it's a digital format instead of analog.

Yes but most of us write it as 7/22 so sorry, 3/14 is better

Yea, coke what are you thinking, you must have never tried Jolt or Bawls those are geek drinks.
