For a transit bus or a heavy truck this is nothing! Transit buses typically cost anywhere from $0.5-2 million and trucks are also similar in their price.
Diesel locomotives are pretty darn expensive too, so a $7,500 gadget is not as expensive as it seems.
1. Grammar is easier than other languages.
2. Spelling is really messed up. Spelling reform is needed.
Ef aj wonted tu spell logikalli, aj wud spell laik thys.
3. As far as the US is concerned, we have spelling that is more logical, but we are still using the imperial system... WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT.
I mean grafitti...
But the real question is: did this bring out the real curiosity in them or will this forever stop them from exploring computers further?
Artificial diamonds were first developed in Kiev, Ukraine at the University for Superhard Materials.
Later, there were plans to make them into armor (armored cars, armored vests, etc.).
Isn't there an 'unwritten' rule amongst thieves on cell phones in countries with oligopoly-based cell phone services, saying that stealing cell phones is a big no-no, because they can be tracked? In poorer countries where GSM is not widespread and blacklists are not kept, such crimes are still possible.
Let's sue them too! Their old PocketPCs provided no way of easily changing the rechargeable battery without having to take the case apart (although the batt did last for a few years longer than the iPod).
No, 90% of the time, people are pulled over for NOT breaking the law. It's the other 10% that we see on COPS.
What we should really have is a system where drivers' speed limits are set based on their experience and their ability to handle a car. This could easily be done with a simple sticker system. This way the good drivers are not double-taxed for society's problems.
Unfortunately, Google Earth doesn't have buildings for that part of town yet. However, you can see the double yellow like just like in Google Maps. Also, you can do some neat zoom-ins, to show that this is, in fact, the intersection in question.
Actually TTC has been known for its harassment of transit buffs lately, although things were 180 degrees backwards a few decades ago.. I wouldn't expect for this to be any different... I guess the players have to learn the rules what we transit buffs knew all along... well... all along since 9/11.

I know at least three keyboard layouts:
English (US)
Russian
Ukrainian
and I'm proficient in all of them. Switching between them is pretty easy. I've noticed that my typing speed in each language varies based on how much I time spend typing in that particular language.
Here's the problem:
Russian can be written in cyrillic and in and using latin characters when a cyrillic keyboard is not installed (I mean the software, not the hardware, I do touch-typing in all three languages). In any event, switching between transliterated Russian and real Russian is a pain in the ass. I use the real Russian layout more than translit, and thus I always have the urge to switch to the real Russian layout whenever I need to type in translit.
I imagine the same would be true for DVORAK v. QWERTY. I tried learning DVORAK but gave up due to the lack of time. However, I see the potential benefits and I hope to learn it at some point in the future.
Good luck with DVORAK!:)

How can the efficiency of an internal combustion engine be 97%!?!?!?!?!? Didn't we all learn in physics that it's simply not possible!

I participated in the Mars thing in 2004 (?) I even got a certificate for doing it, and the probe never go to Mars.... My feelings are hurt!

"Safety Regulations? Bah! I know those safety regulations just like my three fingers!"
I used to write Basic programs on my TI-83Plus in Calc class....now they can watch matrix.... How much learning can they do?
So the privates will not have all the equipment they need, even if they themselves lack it.
We have HILLS! And if you place wifi points on hills, you can easily save money in terms of coverage. That's what cell phone companies do.

1. GPS built-in to laptops. So you can use mapping software more easily on the go.
1. Could also be used for tracing your laptop if it's stolen
Well... this would be really fun with 'express' and 'local' elevators, but with the elevator traffic my building gets, it would be nearly impossible :)

So I guess you're not a transit buff... what else is new?
I guess I'll have to give them my middle finger if they want it so bad!
