Well, since your premise is incorrect, no reason to bother with your conclusion.
The correct answer is that I work for a small company (which it appears you never have - see, at a small company, you pitch in whereever you can), so I've traded a great work environment for low pay and unclear job guidlines.
This decision has started to wear on me though.
The idea that developing a new custom CRM system for a company from scatch requires neither creativity nor skill is ridiculous.
But... why did I ever bother with this post? You're just another AC slashdot jackass.
The other problem is that a lot of tech workers don't exactly have set guidelines on what their job requires.
Take my job for instance: Web CRM Developer/Maintainer (for in house use) Low-mid level IT Support Satellite network diagnostics and maintenance Field work (roughly one week every two months) Web development
My job title: Jr. Software Engineer (note the lovely "Jr.") My pay: not enough - but how much should I make? The same as a CRM Developer/Maintainer (I wish), the same as a low level help desk employee (it'd be a raise)?
Everything you read in the news is true! And correct! Especially when it's a politician trying to attack Chimpy McBushHaliburtonHitler!
The fact is was it was in the Gulf of Mexico. Whether you want to come to grips with that is your decision. See the link from the other response. This isn't something that is even open to debate.
5 days ago the storm was over the fucking gulf of mexico.
It wasn't till the levies broke (which was when, late Monday or early Tuesday?) that things started to get bad. And then later on in Tuesday things got pretty bad.
Guardsmen have full time jobs you know. They aren't just sitting in the back of a transport truck waiting to be shipped out to do flood and crowd control.
But, you're right. It's Bush's fault. Your hatred for the man blinds you.
where do you get 5 days? 5 days ago the hurricane was still in the gulf of Mexico. 4 days ago the hurricane was over land roughly 3 days ago the levies broke
I'd be interested to see them do this on a relatively new BMW or Mercedes or a myriad of other luxury cars because you can't just "hotwire" them. No matter what wires you twist together nothing is going to happen.
In the end, it comes down to two possibilities: Global warming is happening, global warming is not happening.
Actually, that's not the real debate. It's what effect, if any, human behavior has had on the rate of temperature increase. The earth is slowly heating up, but according to NOAA data I've crunched (I get bored and do these type of things), it's climbing at a steady.3 degrees celcious per decade, and has been doing for quite some time. The rate of increase has neither increased, nor decreased.
This may seem amazing to you but there are both very conservative Christian denominations (Baptists, conservative Catholics) and very liberal ones (ELCA (which recently recommended divestment from Israel) and Episcopal (who allow for gay priests)).
Many of the CSM's articles lean fairly liberal and I would say that it has a slightly left of center stance in general.
Many readers of slashdot skew pretty left. For them, not buying the far left's intepretation of global warming brands you an idiot. They worship at the alter of environmentalism and socialism and you're speaking blaspemy.
If you post even reasonable, well thought out posts like your own original post, you get savaged.
I gave up trying to have reasoned debates on this site a long time ago, it just isn't worth it.
The whole game doesn't have to be GPL. You could charge for the game since it would most likely include custom models, sounds, images, etc. that would be entirely outisde of the open source engine. They still would have to make available the original code and the modified engine code, but the rest of content is there's to do with as they wish.

Be happy that they have a job.
Gas up here in Minnesota jumped up $0.20 and was back down $0.20 within 24 hours.
Yes, they had advanced warning. That's why Bush personally called the Louisiana governor and asked her to evacuate New Orleans.
Gov. Kathleen Blanco, standing beside the mayor at a news conference, said President Bush called and personally appealed for a mandatory evacuation for the low-lying city, which is prone to flooding.
The commander of the Army Corps of Engineers says even if certain water and flood-control projects in New Orleans had been fully funded, they would have been no match against Hurricane Katrina.
That is perhaps the most worthless argument ever. The planning for "D-Day" did not start on "A-Day".

Are all liberals fucking idiots?

Yes, and the upper midwest and canada would just like to say: you can have water from the great lakes when you pry it from our dead lips
The western desert areas have a problem with water? Too bad... move to f'en Indiana.
Hah! You think that's not patentable? You obviously are just playing an armchair attorney without a grounding in legal principles or logic.
Weird system you guys have. Up here in the liberal capital of the upper mid-west (aka Minneapolis) we pay less if we recycle than if we don't.
"there's" --> theirs
it's too early...

should have been clearer: the ending to Jurassic Bark = depressing
Most depressing ending to a cartoon, ever?
Just finished watching seasons 1-5 and that ending put me in a hell of a bad mood.
The remix is the very nature of the digital.
Excuse me while I gag...
in 1999 during the seattle anticapitalist protest
I think you meant:
in 1999 during the seattle riot
Unless protesting can somehow be construed to include the wanton destruction of public and private property.
Console games will not have a competitive graphics resolution until everybody has an HDTV
Xbox 360 requires all games to support 720p. PS3 baseline may be 1080p. Of course the games will also support lower resolution TVs.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 will drive huge amounts of HDTV sales.
I was just going to say the same thing. I'd be very suprised if giganews had that bad of retention. Now... back to downloading... Linux ISOs?
For heaven sakes people! Lucas was only able to make $50 million on Thursday! HE HAS CHILDREN TO FEED (I think?)!
