This comment intrigues me. On one hand it (sort of) brings up the point about how annoying it is that each distribution seems to want to throw random files in seemingly random locations, instead of their being a standard spot for them.
On the other hand... the rest of it seems to be just random garbage, but it's gotten +3 Interesting mod.
Katrina was the greatest storm ever! (Even though it was a cat 3 when it hit land and possibly a cat 1 when the levies broke (because of the ground they were built on, not the design))
I know a lot of the leftist Euro slashdot readers currently have a great disdain for America, but most of the countries who want the US to give up some of its control over the internet aren't doing so because they're OSS fans or just want information to be free. Most, if not all, of them want to be able to excercise an even greater amount of control over what is available, not only to their own citizens, but to the rest of the planet. What do you think China, North Korea, Iran, etc will be pushing for once they have a little bit more say?
This game is better than the previous version, but I don't know if it's worthwhile owning both of them (as I do). And I can't stand the new career mode interface and the car selection.
If you own neither, I'd pick up Burnout 3. I've seen it at best buy/circuit city for $19.99.
Why wait? Why do we even discuss this? Dual format players are already announced by major players like Samsung.
This format war was over before it even began. Isn't this the exact same discussion we were having about the DVD+-RW format issues? And now everyone has drives that support everything and it's a moot point.
Easy fix for most software like that is to make the user an admin, log in with their account, install the software, make the user a normal user again, and log out. If that doesn't do it, giving the user full rights to the registry settings for the program usually fixes it.
Not a perfect system, but it works fairly well.

We on planet Earth call it GSM.
nano/pico is the answer, clearly.
I keep being told that I am surrendering rights, but I can't quite figure out which ones. Please list specifics and not LLL talking points. Thank you.
I agree. $1.99 for a horrible quality video file? No thanks. I stick with downloading non-DRM HD quality TV shows.
Now, $1.99 for a nice non-DRM HD quality TV show... that I may actually do.
I think FOX/Newscorp (with their recent aquisitions) will be the first to offer something like that, or at least something close to that.
Maybe it's just me, but the telescope array gave me herpes!

I can't decide whether or not you're joking.

No BLOOD FOR Skittles!
plus he's nominating his own personal lawyer with NO experience as a judge
Yeah, because this is the first time that someone who has never been a judge has been nominated to the supreme court.
Idiot.
"Bush bans oil! All cars must run on skittles and drive on rainbows"
Why is this a liberal wet dream? If they were to impeach him then Cheney would become president.
because we have a long history of being able to make untapable phone calls!
erhhh... wait
You forgot one:
7. Vaporware
And I'd alter 1 to read "Google becoming evil/is awesome!"

China seems to be moving further away from communist ideals and towards that of capitalism. This kind of news discourages me though.
It discourages you that they are moving away from communism? Interesting...

Anyone with a link to the beta mail client? Or is a closed beta?
Thank you for proving my point.
Considering that I was responding to some troll, and not you, the only point that seems to have been proven is that you're an idiot.
You must yearn for the day when women were being executed in soccer stadiums in Afghanistan, don't you?
But you're right, war isn't the answer
You've saved the world this time, General Lance Lord, but mark my words, I'll be back!
