Yes, but HD availability is lacking with the "On Demand services". Its still a long ways off. And people still like to have physical discs for some reason. "On Demand" has been around a few years now and it doesnt seem to be denting the rental business yet. I do believe however, once more HD content is available On Demand, it may pick up.
I keep hearing this, but i know absolutely no one who is using the digital distribution for their home entertainment. While this would be popular for people watching movies on their computer, the majority of people watch movies on their TVs from the comfort of their couch. Its going to be a while off before appliances are in every home to take advantage of digital distribution. So the disc wars will continue for the foreseeable future.
Sorry, while paper mario might be fun. It just doesnt cut it in my book of what I consider fun. Id take Heavenly Sword any day over Paper Mario.
Different tastes for different people. Nintendo understands the ADD generation where ridiculous short party games are all that many ppl find fun today. Some of us others still enjoy the epic detailed intricate hard games that come with 360/PS3 territory.
Not to mention Multiplayer capabilities.
I currently work as a Network Admin for a large retail company. I started with this company as a store clerk, then moved to the helpdesk, while i was in college. This helped me learn patience and how to be polite with everyone no matter how annoying, wrong, irate the "customer"/"employee" is. I look at some coworkers who have no clue how to handle talking to a customer or a user needing help and give them lip every chance they get. I understand the frustrations of having petty work assigned to you by a VP level person that interrupts your day and workflow. All the time i have important time constrained projects interrupted by those "important" people who have to have some blackberry/treo/etc problem fixed asap. I have to drop whatever important task I am on and concentrate soley on the happiness of this one person. Ultimately thats what it comes down to i have found. Although i get my work done and i am thorough on all mky projects, I am not known for that, I am known for always being the nice guy who helps out the Execs and their exec assistants, and honestly that puts me in better light than anything else. Sometimes the interruptions are extremely frustrating, but when the execs are happy, everyone is happy.
Serenity was influenced a lot by the extremely popular (in its time) Cowboy Bebop. I never was able to get into Serenity because i saw everything from the show, and the music as being a complete rip of this Japanese Anime. It annoyed me.
If you are a fan of Firefly, you would do yourself a favor to check out that series. You would probably see what I am talking about, as well as fall in love with it.
Samsungs new phone the Upstage, really looks more attractive than the iPhone does. LCD screens on both sides, mp3 player, etc, other.
It is a fad driven market.
Id rather be drinking beer at home on the couch playing GoW or Resistance online with my buds.
Its 2007. Nintendo needs to get their online MP act together. I dont think there is any good excuse these days to not have an online multiplayer component.
Because they can easily outmatch supply vs demand. I think lots of people have been ignoring that fact and taking their stock for complete lack of interest.
I think i will keep reading the response even after the Wii has gone the way of the gamecube. Myself a Wii owner, can see easily that there have been no good games that have come out for the Wii since launch. Warioware aside which is merely yet ANOTHER party game, the Wii's list of games at this point are no better, if not worse, truly, than the PS3s.
PS3 has had VF5, Motorstorm, F1, Tekken 5 all release in the last month. Of course, Nintendo only fans dont find those games fun because they arent Mario/Zelda/Metroid. Thats opinion of course, but to a large, huge rather amount of gamers, those titles i just listed on the PS3 are huge selling points. Along with blu-ray stomping HDDVD, the PS Home announcement, Little Big Planet, i think Sony IS back on the right track. The Wii is the system with NOTHING in the near future for it.
I know mine is currently collecting dust.
Wishful thinking son.
There are no lawsuits, based on what you have said, that can be made against Sony. If there were, then MS/Nintendo/Second Life would all be in trouble too since they all cop their ideas from other firsts.
I like how the OP of the story decides to insert his ABSOLUTE opinion on einsteins THEORY of relativity. So based on one statement he completely dismisses the possibility of the research experiment. This is science, Theories are made to be broken or proven. Not to dictate what is possible and discount the impossible.
Shatner is definitely not one who can be replaced by anyone easily, if at all. But its going to be done and it has to be done. I never would have placed Matt Damon in the role, but the more ive heard and read about it and looked at Matt Damons track record and acting, the more convinced i become that he is one who could potentially pull it off. Ive boggled my mind trying to think of another actor who could possibly do it, and always come up emtpy. At least Damon could probably make a valiant effort to play Kirk. We all just need to keep in mind that no one will replace shatner and we shouldnt expect as much.
Gary Sinese on the other hand looks like a Perfect fit for McCoy. Their looks are uncanny.
I'm sorry but do you even keep up with the industry? Your claims are completely off base. Sony sold almost as many units as the 360 even tho it costs twice as much. Reports that Wii demand is slowing, we wont know for sure until the next few months of sales, but PS3 has been climbing, albeit slowly, in sales. Regardless if the 360 has been out a year, in order to be successful they have to sustain their sales, if the PS3 climbs and passes the 360 what does that mean? I know ppl love to hate sony here, but this actually is better than expected, even if it is still 3rd.
Also, Blu-Ray Movies are outselling HDDVD by 3 to 1 and have been gaining buy hundreds of percents a month on HDDVD, and they may have actually passed them in total sales now, even tho HDDVD had almost a 10 month head start. Woe is your flame at sony.
Love em or hate em, PS3 is selling quite well enough to not be a failure. Is it selling like the PS2? No, but we wont likely see that again for years.
Quake 3 ushered in professional gaming as we know it today. On a large worldwide scene. Counterstrike carried the momentum from quake 3's professional gaming success and expanded it 100 fold. Modern pro gaming as we know it largely has Quake 3 to thank.
I would have to agree with you on this. I look at my 360voice gamercard and it lists the XBL Arcade title Street Fighter 2 as my most played. Go figure a game that old still gets more play on my "next gen" system more than next gen games do.
I think that list is fine, as long as they remembered to include Quake and Quake 3, i wouldnt argue about any other titles missing.
While i know the Quake series really didnt attract everyone, quake 1 at least was really the first p2p via the internet fps to really just blow up the community. Quake 3 then brought legitmacy to professional gamers and the hard work that goes into becoming the best. While there may be "better" games not listed, few influenced the community as a whole as quake 1 and quake 3 did.
Interesting. Last time i looked at that site just a month ago HD was winning every category. I guess the PS3 really has made an imapct on Blu-Ray sales.
Thanks for the link.
It is not deniers of Global Warming. I dont think anyone will dispute our Globe is warming up. Its denying that Humans are the main cause for this. While Humans have some affect sure, there are thousands and thousands of other circumstances why the earth is on its normal cycle of warming and then cooling. Magnetic Poles shifting being a huge one.

Actually the figure stated 70% of all rentals were blu-ray, which would make it around 7 vs 3.

Dont forget God of War. But yeah losing FF would be huge. Altho gleaning from what was said that FFXIII is up in the air i think is a bit premature.
MGS4 is expected to take up a large portion of a dual layer BD just due to the massive amounts of uncompressed 5.1 PCM sound.
Hahaha, owned. Thats how bogus the doods statement is. Kudos on that retort. God slashdot you guys are getting more and more hokey everyday.

He said he wasnt signed from what i could hear. Doesnt say anything definitive about Matt Damon not being able to play the next Kirk still.

Buying one over the other due to how it sounds = best decision making evAr.
