Aside from its "unique" controller aspects, the Wii offers nothing to the majority of gamers which make up PS2/Xbox users, who plan on upgrading to a next gen system. The gamecube trailed significantly, and the Wii will have sales worse than the gamecube. The avg gamer could care less about zelda and mario rehases with a "nifty" controller. The analysts have it right on that part at least. Most people i know IRL are not planning on a Wii for their first next gen system. Most are getting/already have a 360 and are waiting on the PS3.
Its one more program you have to keep an eye out for when installing otherwise "free" software from adobe and etc. I put it in the adware/spyware category because if you dont actively pay attention to your next/next/next clicking during install you will get a shitty google toolbar slapped onto your browser which is really annoying...
Um. Have you ever looked at one side by side? The difference my human eye can see was amazing. 1080p FTW. I plan on replacing my 720p/1080i set as soon as the 1080p models stop costing 4-6k =(
I'm glad you admitted it first. I work with about 300 Linux(slackware, redhat flavor) webservers. Which are great, no problems for the most part, but we also run about 45 Win2k/2k3 IIS/MSSQL/AD/Exchange servers for our Intranet apps and i must also admit that we have no problems with these guys. They are very very easy to manage and setup and ive yet to have a "crashing" problem that wasnt hardware related on either OS. To each his own. Both have their strengths.
I am an AMERICAN and I was upgraded from 4mbps to 8mbps free and i am getting 8-10mbps now. It has nothing to do with American/canadian/wherever. It has to do where your location is, how many users are clogging up the lines, and for DSL users its the distance from the Telco. Many lay people seem to not understand this.
We are soon to be getting the 16mbps upgrade in the Nashville area, but right now i will hit 10mbps+ at times even tho we are "advertised" to get 8mbps. I never see 3-4mbps unless im being limited by the server I am hitting.
Because when you watch a football game in Standard def, with Hi Def right next to it, it is INSTANTLY noticeable?
Its not like the differences are minor. The difference is HUGE in quality.
Regardless if they compressed it more than normal.
Lets compare laws, social freedoms, etc etc. Point for point, then when we still come out on top by a large number for the freedoms we Americans have, you can still giggle about it. Even with our "decreasing" number of freedoms as some would call it, we still are the most free nation on earth by far.
Im not sure i follow why this is newsworthy. NAGIOS is OSS and is an extremely mature product with a community writing modules and plugins etc etc, to monitor any aspect you wanted of your Servers/Routers/Networks/room temperatures, i mean anything. Why would anyone bother?
I have to agree. I am a intermediate Anime fan. I love, cowboy bebop, naruto, witch hunter robin, outlaw star, etc. But when i sat through this Evangelion series, i wanted to tear my eyes out. It was just horrrrribly boring. The art was awesome, but it was just horrible in every other way. Cant get into it.
Looking forward to a live action version tho courtesy of WETA.
Ive been loving what WOTC has done with the D&D franchise. Many say they dumbed it down(and they did), but they completely rivtalized what was a dying franchise save the hardcore.
My only complaint is that Eberron is not appealing at all imo. Not many groups have been bothering with that setting. Forgotten Realms/Greyhawk still seem to be top dogs by a far margin. I just cant get into the Eberron setting.
I look at most of the walmart shoppers and i think....i cant even begin to imagine them trying to build their own computer. I wont even go into a Walmart unless it is absolutely necessary because the stench of poor people is so overwhelming.
I think thats a horrible point. Not many kids are going to ask mommy and daddy for a HD-DVD player because its cheaper than a PS3 for their BDay or Xmas or whatever. I know ppl love to hate sony, but they shouldnt underestimate the PS3s ability to saturate the market with blu-ray. Why should any of us who are going to get PS3s bother with HD-DVD? Thats why im personally holding out, not because i think one is better than the other, but because I'm going to get a PS3 anyway.

The Social AI is what needs work. And I stopped playing oblivion out of frustration for the same reasons the original poster pointed out.

Yeah, someone else can take one for the environment, not me. The next volcanic eruption will erase any gains we made this year in cutting emissions down anyway. Its all about money. And THATS the bottom line.
