Hey, not dissing MACs or anything, but MACs are still a long way off from competing with the PC as far as games and upgradeability goes. Even casual gamers these days build up their systems and upgrade every year or so. MACs are EXPENSIVE! Compared to a DELL XPS model, bang for buck still goes to the PC where the gamer is concerned.
If you had stolen the $$ in goods that you stole in music, would you not already be in jail? Or awaiting an impending felony conviction? I am just playing devils advocate here. If i were to be busted by the RIAA and settled for that little amount. I would feel lucky that they didnt press charges and that i was being let off with such a small penalty in light of the alternatives.
While i would tend to agree to an extent. Its going to be hard to even call the revolution passable in graphics. Again, beating a dead horse, but High Def support is important to me and many others. Graphics hardly anymore powerful than the last gen xbox? The innovative nature of this machine really needs to be something special to succeed. It definitely is aimed more for a childs toy, than a big boys console gaming system. I dont mean this as a troll or any other, but i believe its the truth and its ultimate downfall. Maybe they will prove me wrong, and i hope they do because that will definitely mean its something worth checking out.
I have to agree on this as well. I have been using IE7 beta and am finding it is quite well done so far. Also doesnt suffer from the memory leak problems that "dont" exist in firefox.
This is the main point IMO that causes this game to fail. Hundreds of people brought it up during beta, and bring it up now, about instanced gaming.
The game is fun. But to have to pay monthly for a game with similarities to how Guild Wars is run(with no monthly fee mind you), it is hard to convince myself to get this game. If it was stand alone and didnt have a charge i would probably jump all over it. But this instanced gaming and lack of traveling that is supposed to be "convenient" for gamers ends up making it less of an mmorpg that it already is. If you read the DDO forums you will see this issue brought up time and time again. And the responses are the same flames. But i think its obvious that this is one of the root problems of this title and why it will ultimately be a huge loss for Turbine.
Because they are kids? Especially kids who were in basically a vocational school because they were bombing out in regular school?
I would call it impressive to say the least. And i'm glad to see that sometimes the system does work to get "troubled" kids on the right track.
I purchased a mid-high end 5.1 receiver about 6 years ago. Yamaha model.
Pretty expensive speakers as well. B&Ms.
I have since purchased newer receivers and setup 7.1s in my house and others houses and none have come out sounding any better or even as good as the 5.1 i still use. I am the type of person who likes to buy the best thing now/first. But the fact that 5.1 is all that is needed at this point has kept me from actually keeping any new 7.1 surround setup i have purchased. They have all been returned because the price/upgrade hasnt been justified over the quality of my current 5.1 setup.
Not sure where you were going with this. PGR3 does look as good as the "high res" screens you talk about. You should also check out the "high res" screens for Fight Night round 3. That game just released this week and it is hands down the best looking game in motion out on any system/pc/console/otherwise. You must have misread about companies using all 3 cores to their potential, as EA stated they had not for games like Fifa and NBA live. There is much more potential pent up power in the xbox 360. But you dont learn things like that when you just troll a system from articles and comments you have read on slashdot.
I will load up even just the basic XBL arcade games to unlock more achievement points. Whenever i see "Achievement Unlocked" on my screen, i immediately have to check out what i received it for. Sad? Sure. But it definitely adds an element of " I Really gotta keep playing this game " to every game. Having the live updated gamercard available from www.xbox.com also makes it addicting because anyone can see your progress, or lack thereof. Very smart implementation.
You mean like make Firefox the most used browser in the world and in turn become the highest targeted browser for these types of things? Its just a flip flop scenario.
Well I am a parent. But i love those toys as much as my Kid, so i already bought the 360 and i will be buying the PS3. Bottom line the PS3 is going to sell tons just off the success of the PS1 and PS2. I dont think it matters that it supports blue-ray except to the video philes out there who are a much smaller crowd than your average joe. The average joe just thinks its a gaming machine, this whole argument means nothing in the grand scale of things imo.
Indeed. The little QEMU configuration "hack""workaround" was really interesting. Just for kicks we were making Linux and Windows VMs with it and then passing of the files to other users that had the vmplayer with no problems. Amazing how minimal the work was to get vmplayer to install onto an qemu created virtual drive.
Apparently you are NOT familiar with Sarbanes-Oxley. In a nutshell its about accountability. Adding hardware/software/configuration changes to any server etc that falls under critical apps, development, financial information, etc etc etc, needs to have a request approved by the said "business owner"(dept head) of that particular systems use.
I suppose how critical your systems are depends on your companys business, but I work for a very large retail chain and most of our systems have some sort of "sensitive" info on them that require a recorded history when any change needs to be made and who approved the change.
Goes to show how ignorant people who always say what you say are.
It has more to do with being publically listed with the SEC.
Sarbanes-Oxley. Do a little reading on it. Linux or MS it wouldnt make a difference.
Geeze kids.
BTW, id like to personally thank Enron for making our lives that much harder.
I cant tell whether to mod as funny or a troll....

I recommend you use a dictionary to look up the word fascist.

Sad truth is that this is a more likely future than Linux ever taking over MS in the market.
I actually think they are still trying to get the script approved...
At least we can afford to do that?
HAHAHAH hilarious.

Are you serious? Its a pipe dream to think linux shipping on computers is making any dent/scratch/smudget at all on windows workstation install rate.
Please move to another country if you do not care for our level of freedom anymore.

My 100FPS+ in WoW under wine "emulation" says otherwise.

High Definition. May not matter to the average joe, but i am seriously looking forward to having my movies in HD.

Now you know how we feel in the US...wait nevermind, we dont care that they do that with our flag.
