    I've done the opposite.
    I have been using Opera for years and recently installed Firefox and it feels a lot slower and clunkier.

    Opera works for me.

    an example: a tight nut on a bolt needs to be loosened - these individuals will tend to go about needing complex tools or methods, theorizing forever on whiteboards on this or that angles and torque and whatnot, hours later with nothing accomplished - damnit all, just squirt a bit of wd-40 on it, stick a damn socket and wrench on the thing, add a pipe extension, and give it a bit of leverage and bust the bastard free

    Yes but the way they would come up with wouldn't have a chance of damaging the nut or bolt or disturbing the existing rust/markings.

    USB mouse?
    Try unplugging the mouse and then booting.
    If you can get in then uninstall the mouse drivers, shutdown and reboot with the mouse plugged back in.
    Accept the default Microsoft drivers.

    If I take a pic from far away I don't usually have to crop at all.

    But that's what you get with a 1999 model 0.8Mp Sony Mavica with 14x optical.

    Most ADSL plans are 10c US per Meg over cap.
    The cap is usually somewhere between 500mb and 5Gb or less.

    Thats all fine and good, then you develop batbelt syndrome -- carrying a personal cell phone, a work cell phone, a work pager, and a PDA out to the bar is unforuntately NOT cool.

    I get paid to ride around on a motorbike and play with computers.

    If it had an extra wait state then it should only be slower to twice the MHz?
