I totally agree. The last thing I want to do is replace the battery in my mouse! With the "convenience" of wireless mice you get the expense and hassle of putting in a new battery every now and then. Also when the battery dies you have to debug why the mouse isn't working.
I suppose when using a mouse as a pointer in a presentation standing in front of a projector is useful.
Ever since Win XP added native ZIP support I figured : oh there's Microsoft added a new feature to the OS that kills the flagship product of a little guy. Of course, Internet Explorer (killing Netscape) is another obvious example. Why isn't this banned?
That's kinda neat but the moisture causes other problems in the washroom besides mirror fog. Like mildew, mold, etc. So the best idea (like with good code) is to make sure the problem never occurs. ie use an exhaust fan.
But - jeeze - Google seems to be coming out with an amazing new product each month. I would hardy ask what's everyone going there - they seem to working their asses off.
I think lots of lay-people just see their market dominance and compare that to Microsoft. Of course, we understand that just haven't a large market share doesn't imply evil. But lots of folks don't
In fact, Google's searches are good mostly because they don't appear to be unfair (non-evil). For example search for "map" and you get Mapquest, Yahoo maps and others all before Google Maps!
Also, as we know the reason Microsoft has their dominance is because Windows comes preinstalled but web users are free to use any search site.
All this is olde hat to us - I just wish it would be said in the mainstream press.
As everyone will point out, you can get HIV without having poor judgement. However, there is natural selection at work. A few people seem to be naturally resistant to HIV-AIDS. These people are being natually selected.
Are you suggesting that the nerd who made this website should be hauling sandbags and treating injuries?!

Is the current situation really so great?! Eg driving on a freeway from your free-standing house to the huge parking lot at a Wal-Mart. Yuck.
How about walking from a town-house to a local hardware store where the guy knows you to buy that hammer. Nice.
So Google subcontracted a company called GigaByte to make this box.
I was disappointed to see GigaByte didn't use MegaByte to make some subcomponent.
> doesn't look like it would be too hard
Look again! I bet it would take years.
Better link: RFC4010
The dead people (and their relatives) might not agree with you. Also Kyoto gets cleaner air - that might be nice.
I think that "redundant and annoying" adds extra info that's already there and bothers me.
I few examples of this were discussed in The Selfish Gene. Its not the parasite that's self but its genes or so goes the thesis.

He's just being contrarian.

Nice to see them called "Windows Worms" instead of computer viruses as usual. These are all Windows problems.
Dare I say, more IM conversations aren't any use
an hour after they are done.
OK calm down, Mr. Trillian.
Not another. Jabber is the only IM I use now.
All my pals. All my colleagues too.
I prefer Linux but too.
But you might want to check out overlapped I/O in Windows.
This reminds of the film {proof}.
I saw a trailer for it the other day. Has one body seem the movie? No doubt Holywood will get the math wrong.
Yeah, what a lazy slacker.
You seem very incurious. Ever considered running for president?
Wouldn't bzip2 do an even better job.
It can read the whole document and notice
that <item> occurs alot and replace it with one bit.
I think it would be nice if the powerco's just installed fibre when they were installing powerlines. No interference, nice and simple.
