I have never seen a research division that is so awesome and also, at the same time, seemingly at odds with their market strategies which are unimaginative and trivial sounding. I sincerely hope the rumors about Ballmer being on the way out, have some truth to them. At the same time, I also hope that the rumors about Ozzie leaving have no truth to them whatsoever.

Astak EZReader 5" Pocket Pro Battery Life : 8000 pages or around there DRM Formats : Yea they're there, but there's no lockdown like in the case of Amazon, Sony or any of the other biggies. They're just additions to many formats like RTF,DOC,TXT,HTML,PDF(reflow),EPUB. The support for LIT and CHM is spotty at best and you'd best avoid them on the PocketPro. Then again, other than Pocketbook, chm support sucks across most readers in the market now. Price : $199

I am pretty sure if you take th final tally of the last year vulnerability count MySQL wont be lacking at all in the numbers. Besides most MySQL issues were ones that proprietary database vendors were dealing with two years ago. As is the case with Firefox when people started moving to it from IE, developers were able to find more vulnerabilities. The same scenario may play out as open source databases grow more popular.

someone mind telling me how many of these. 26 patches were for stuff that had already been exploited? For all you know it was foresight on MS's part to patch these up right away. Other than the WebViewfolderIcon Activex Control and Windows XML parser, none of them seem to have been the wild for long. And dont forget only 6 'flaws' were labelled as critical(Note: I mentioned flaws not patches). BTW any word on the snafu that prevented us from gettin the updates for so long?

I'll say drop the subscription. With the Web ooops Internet being what it is today, there really aint much information a bunch of editors can give you that you havent found before them on the web. Lemme just ask you this as well, How many times have u ended up reading an article on a mag and at the end of it felt like, it was a little too less in terms of information/knowledge imparted. With the internet its really kind of hard to feel that way ever because you can dig deep about anything if you really put your mind to it
