I volunteer pretty much every year at a local computer tradeshow. I remember a few years back when we started asking for donated cue cats. we used them to track the volunteers.
Each volunteer had a nametag with a barcode on it.
Volunteering for a single shift got you into the show for free (definitely worthwhile) volunteering for additional shifts got you some cheep gifts as well - toll kits and t-shirts, that sort of stuff.
Anyways, the cue cats were pretty useful in reading the barcodes and making the whole thing work easier.
I agree with you for the most part, but honestly; I think its not so much that they are sloppy workers (not all of them anyways) as it it communication and cultural issues that are the problem.
my origional post was more of a stick-it-to-the-man, screw-the-corpirations post than it was a screw India thing.
I have some friends in India and theyr really cool people. I'm glad that they'l be able to find a job easily.
ok, I admit that I'm no expert on australia. My comment was meant to be an example of something bad becoming something worse, not a documentary on the country.
Actualy, I myself was somewhat suprised it got a +4 anything. I should have ended it with::duck:: (automatic +5 funny)
Self-confessed "super otaku" Tetsuto Fujiyama says, "There are five different kinds of geeks in Akihabara. The oldest denizens are the electric appliance geeks, who come to purchase electronic parts and other equipment. Next are the PC geeks, who like to build their own original computers that run as fast as possible. Third are TV animation geeks whose brains can't distinguish between reality and the animation. The fourth group are the magazine geeks who have made original animation fantasy stories influenced from TV and game animation and publish them in small magazines circulated among themselves. The last group are those geeks who love to play video games in which erotic animation is used."
I'd probably fit in the first, second, and fifth group.
wow, hell froze over twice in one month!

back in my day, we had to walk uphill both ways and our computers ran at -12khz with 2 bytes of ram!

I dont brag about not knowing a foreign language.
I'm actualy not particularly happy about this; I wish I knew German better.
I had a 4.0 untill I took German.

I dont know about anybody else, but I find it freaking hilarious that they need more people to handle all the jobs that we outsourced over there.
not sure what a 'gunfetischists' is, but I'm fairly certian that Guns are illegal in Australia and that Australia has a high crime rate.
I'd probably fit in the first, second, and fifth group.
