I have seen several ATM's in the last year that have had:
1. Mouse pointer hanging out somewhere on the screen 2. error dialog box on the screen 3. debug message/status code at the bottom of the screen 4. Windows Login dialog flash by as the ATM is rebooting
I never remember any UI issues in the years past, and as a Q/A Engineer makes me worried/mad that stuff gets out into public... How many millions $ do banks pay for this stuff?
Of corse people here in the Phoenix area have been using older technology to steal ATM's... they have been pulling up with trucks/forklifts and just ripping the whole machine out of the walls...
will have to pay big $$$ to everyone who owns a copyright (to get out of infrengment) just like Kazza? hummm, should I have someone else post my (c)opyrighted material up on YouTube and get ready for a big dip into the deep googlewallet?
Oh forget about the keyboard, that's not efficent enough for the serious FPS gamer - just plug in directly to the back of the brain with a mini d-sub connector!:^)
I think I will pull out the old 64 out of the closet and avoid the New Millenium. SSH for C64 anyone?

Yep, I stopped watching when the new cast of the screensavers were checking each others techie outfits they had on. One guy had a tee-shirt that said "ANSWER=42" on it. The girl host asked him what it was an answer to and he said he had no idea, and he picked it out of the TechTV closet because it looked cool. At the point where none of the "TechTV" staff knew what 42 means to techies, was the point that I truned off the channel - forever.
ATMs are where hundreds of $$$ get transacted (both ways) at a time and attract criminals. The postage machine is for a few $.xx stamps - ones that you may not use for months (past the 30 day thing) and most likely not even at that post office.
It's a big waste of money and one of the reasons stamps will be going up again - soon. That's the issue here.
cops come knocking at the door.
suspect opens door.
cop states he has a warrent to install some "software" on the computer.
suspect leads cop to IBM XT in the closet.
no problem.
Maybe we will get lucky and they will "erase" the servers that contain the loans and debt we all carry...
But it would squash those darn critters that are eating the sensors!

What is the ROI for trying to advertise to the 15 or so living in the ISS?
with all of this fanfair recently with YouTube and stuff, I thought it was going the other way...
