I don't think it's justified to call them idiots just because they wanted to protect their game from piracy by trying something new instead of using old methods that are easily cracked.
I'm no expert, but when I installed the eXeem public beta I didn't get any spyware installed. I checked my windows directory for any of those CYDOOR dlls and there wern't any. I also ran ad-aware and it didn't find anything either.
All the live journals I recall seeing on that particular site were totally depressing loser rants about how much their life sucks... it seems to me that people usually post more positive stuff if they run their own website and use it as their blog.
If I want to read dumb gamepro articles I'll go to gamepro... why is slashdot plugging all of these dumb game articles all of a sudden? Post REAL news, I havn't seen anything in days about the tsunami.
If Lokitorrent goes down, the warez/movies community will have next to no medium for mass distribution of stuff... except xdcc which isn't that great or p2p which sucks.:P
