some drunken folks are arguing about the speed of light in vacume vs water.
bartender gets weary of the pedantic noise and nods the folks over to Echo and say "Oh wise one... what is the speed of light in vacume vs water?"
the crowd goes silent as it speaks. "answer is... 42!"
Look, I am glad we have a standardized file system browser now and so it'll lessen the annoyance from having to face yet another custom built file browser.
I am especially glad as a developer. I don't have to grab some library off of github hoping it's as good as people say it is.
At the same time, as a user, I don't browse the file system often. Maybe once in a while when I setup an app to point to the sd card, download something or transfer from a pc. So, it's a low priority.
I think the biggest take away for me is that there isn't a huge variance. What are we talk about.. 2% max?
I was hoping to see something amazing, say 20% difference between java and scala. something i could really take to my boss and say "SEE! we need to switch".
enjoy adblockers while it lasts. you know they'll embed the ads right in to the stream.
then we'll have to resort to some dvr like client to fast forward.
Those hackers could have been sitting on a gold mine if they could just keep it in their pants.
ah well, better luck next time. hope you left some decent rootkits to get back in.
CurrentC: I'd suggest you format all machines and reload all modable firmware. curious, does it suck more this way? or if and when you have customers?
Apple: it's time to crush this insolence while the iron is hot, play up your security, i hear it's ironclad, better than android.
Visa: when the hell are those pin based cards coming?! don't you hear the horde of startups clamoring up your walls?
I have to say though, they stand a much better chance today at doing this thanks to the.Net framework.
Software written on top of that framework should work regardless of the CPU type.
Same for anything written for the JVM.
Moreover, unlike desktops, servers don't have to support an open ended list of apps. So, if by going to ARM they save on energy cost and cost of hardware, it's a win. So, maybe it's a smart move after all. Mr CEO, keep those ARM developers:)
I see. Still, with the big data craze, I can imagine we are hitting such issues already and are either working around them through better software architecture and algorithms or invest in the hardware and offer it as a premium service.
It's fine to obsolete windows 7, but you had better have a place for them to go to. Because right now, Windows 8, AIN'T IT!
I went to windows 8, suffered through it for half a year, then went back to 7. complete waste of time.
I'd like to hear from a cable expert about the cost of these cables. With all the talk of copper shortage, I am wondering if the economics are there to drive fiber over copper.
T-mobile has a $30 unlimited data, unlimited text and 100min voice.

I don't think even those tablet/data only plans can beat that. at least not for unlimited data.
I was seriously into flying during high school and college. Enough to get a private pilot license and study aerospace engineering. I imagine if I saw this news back then it would have blown my mind.
Over 20 years later, it seems... blase(accent!). Maybe it's the thought of all the regulations and restrictions it'll be mired in for the next decade.
Maybe it's the awkward design. Maybe it's the unimpressive range. Maybe cause it'll be insanely expensive. Maybe it's because of high fuel cost and environmental issues, joy flying seems irresponsible.
I think a smaller design would pique my interest.
Imagine a ride, small as a motorcycle or scooter. It would mean cheaper and fuel efficient.
Which would also grant it a more relaxed ultralight rating.
I am wondering how a company that has all the money and talent can't catch a bug like this.
Their test surface is laughably small compared to what Android or Windows has to support.
What is going on there?
What process are they using?
I think it's terrible that you are thinking of hiding it. Instead, I would hold out and make sure you're going after the right jobs.
You should be going after the "research scientist" type of jobs.
you've flipped the EVIL bit!

might want to check those guys out. see if they got paid off on the side for this deal.
don't get me wrong, i love their fans... but come on, it's a fan. those exec and investors are dreaming if you think that market is that large.

Now... how about a color picker intent? please?

Am I to assume form this that these token are to be reused?!?!?!? If so, they deserve to be frauded in to the ground.

So the loser in this is of course intel and amd.

Rather than buying these monsters and maintaining them on their own could they use an IaaS provider? So... use the cloud to model the clouds?

Paypal is doing just fine handling people's bank accounts.
this is because Windows RT did so well! Hey, mr CEO, you clearly need to lay off more people.

Why not just repurpose an old android phone? if you really need I/O, plug in an IOIO board. It's probably cheaper than buying all these peripherals.

Can you see the smiles on the somali pirates? Hope you got some anti pirate features on those things cause it's a great big bulls eye.
if so, you sir/miss, must be rich as you sell off your shares!

there are only 2 things here:
1. radiation treatment
2. bone marrow from an x-man
my money is on #2.
