I had the Rio Karma, it broke on me... twice.
Getting it replaced was pretty simple the first time, I didn't bother the second time. I just got an iPod... same treatment, it hasn't broken.
Maybe the Karma is better now, the interface was much nicer, the dimesnion were better, and I liked not owning an iPod... One day I may go back, we will see.
I have yet to see any HD porn... I'm thinking that porn is one thing that won't improve with better definition and sound... I don't really want to see the lines on the "actress".
The changeable angles feature is nice, but really, the director usually knows the best way to angle the camera, and switches between them well.
I'm not really sure porn is going to improve with technology, unless you are talking sex devices...
I think the expansions are going to allow them to reinvent parts of the game, and fix some problems.
I'm under the impression that the new 25 man raid cap will be more "casual" friendly. People will be able to pick up a group and go whenever they feel like, instead of having to join a big guild, and wait on the other 39 people.
I currently play, and have more fun in ZG (20 man) than in MC (40 Man). I think ZG better captures what the game was supposed to be, and MC was an initial stumbling block and a mistake for the game.
And I wish I hadn't... I'm ok with most of the fluff posts as I find them vaguely interesting. These mods are all really stupid. Most of them have already been posted on Slashdot before too... It's basically a no link dupe, amazingly enough.
I don't remember that actually. By failure I mean it will be one of two things 1. Bad or 2. Not an accurate depiction of the book. Honestly, it will probably be both.
Actually, I have a fairly easy solution for this. It comes directly from the book too. Don't tell the kids. The people who have read the books with know what happened, and the kids who haven't will just think he won the fight.
If it isn't children in the movie, this entire thing will be a failure. The whole point of the book is the exploitation of innocence. A 16 year old is not innocent. Any actor who has gone through puberty or is STARTING puberty is not fit to play Ender Wiggin.
12-16 completley destroys the innocence of Ender's actions. Remember, he kills two kids.
The battleroom is the central focus of the children, battle school, the book. It was the reason EG was turned into a full novel. It has to be done exceedingly well. Sports movies with bad sports almost never work. This will hold true if the battle room isn't shot well, regardless of how little time is spent in there.
I forgot about the psych test, but it is hugely important if they are going to keep the adults opinion about Ender in. The final battle is going to have to be CG with ships that look like ships, and will cut back to Ender in the cube, watching on a screen. The final explosion will hopefully be awesome.
There's a lot of subtleness behind the children's nakedness... Garden of Eden imagery and all.
I almost feel like they are going to have to raise the ages and take out both fights. The Bonzo one especially. Ender will have to have another sort of killer instinct test...
I don't think this movie can be made successfully. I want it to be good, but there are too many crucial plot elements that won't translate to the screen.
Also, i just remembered that the kids run around naked alot, have a fight scene naked... The nakedness is relevant, as it shows how stripped down the kids are, emotionally, spiritually and clothingly.
As far as I'm concerned this film has some major challenges to face that are integral to remaining true to the book.
1.
The characters age from 6yrs old to 12 yrs old. That's a HUGE swing. Them being children and developing are two important themes that need to remain.
2.
How are they going to film the Battle Room scenes? It's a 3d fight, so there really isn't a good way of doing it. I think the best way would almost be a first person view directly from Ender, so the battle flows as he sees it, but this would lead to problems in the final battle.
3.
The Computer Game at the end (i can't remember it's name). That is going to be an extremely difficult thing to replicate, and build tension with. The build up of hopelessness at the very end will be crucial (more so than in the book) and will be hard to pull of with blips of light.
4.
Will they even cover Peter Wiggin? It will be hard to do that as well, especially his rise to power on the nets...
Those are just a few of the problems I see. It's going to be a huge challenge to accuratley represent the book well. The only way I can see it getting done is CG, but this seems to dark for a CG movie.
This begs the next question: has it really gone unnoticed for so long, or has the species only recently evolved?
Evolution takes a LONG, LONG time in genetically complex things. Since mammals don't reproduce at a huge rate (compared to bacteria), the changes come about slowly. Thus, it is probably not a "new" creature. As for why it hasn't been noticed, my guess is that it preys on relatively abundant animals (such as mice) whose general population numbers are not known, and thus people don't notice that more are being eaten. I would also assume that the animal has a low population... probably becuase it is inferior food chain wise and barely clinging to survival. Or it's just a remote jungle. Or it's a robot with the power of invisibility. I'm sure we will know more once we finish tearing down the rest of the forest.
My guess would be:
Less delicious than Panda, Kangaroo, Koala Bear, or Tucan
More delicious than a Komodo Dragon, Lion, Tiger
Overall as delicious as a Ligre.
I didn't like Digg.com that much. The comments were more inane (believe it or not), and the stories weren't as well laid out. I think people should just get mod points for stories on a -1 to 10 scale. Posts start at 0 and can be moderated up and down according to relevance. That way dupes get knocked down to -1 fairly quickly. Except by the people who make the "dupe" jokes... which ironically are dupes of jokes they have told early on other dupe posts...

2 questions: What's the end game like and how much a month is it?
Nice use of the word IFF... One of my favorite English words. In case you think i'm an under-educated spelling nazi with a bad case of sarcasm, it means 'If and Only If'... Good word.
Actually, you do need new fat to replace old fat. If you don't intake some fat, your body will cling to the old fat as a survival mechanism. When i was on a diet, i took fish oil everyday so my body would have good fat (omega 3) to replace the bad fat I had put on. My diet actually resembled what was mentioned, but I went extremely hard on exercise (A hike, round of golf, gym, and walk after dinner) but then again I was living on mommy and daddy who wanted me to not be a fat ass.
regardless, from what I know, and from talking to people who helped me lose 60 lbs, you do need fat in your diet... Omega 3s are the best choice too!
That's not really redundant at all... If a brewery in San Diego is the largest brewer in this particular area, they are the largest brewer HERE, and not the world. Budweiser would then be the biggest brewer in the world but not in San Diego.
In other, more clear, less beer related words, Harrah's has both the most casino's in the world and in Las Vegas itself.
The problem with your analogy is that no one PAYS for the points in a football game. You're right, you can't put a price on most sports or video games scores, but when it comes to online property people can. How do I know this? because they have. The 12 million gold pieces will get you a real life amount of money. The gold becomes a good or a service. It isn't what the items are named that is important, it is the fact that the online goods draw real world cash.
You can regard the item sold as a service, and say I would have to put in 100 hours to get such an item, it's worth my 10 dollars. That has given value to the object, regardless of what it is. If people paid 10 dollars for a point in football, and the transaction could be made, then football scores would have real life worth. It's much like collector's items. Sure, their function isn't worth the price, but the fact that the have intrinsic value makes it cost extra.
That's the question, though, if it is intellectual property, who does it belong to? Is an online sword like a CD, where you can't copy it but you can sell it used? But then what responsibility does the company have to the consumer? Before a lost item was an inconvienence, but the second you give it real world value (not the current grey market) the company has a new responsibility. It's going to be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out. I think maybe the bot in this instance will make it so nothing is established, but in the end there is going to have to be some legal precedent. It is an interesting emerging market, and it will be strange to see what happens.
If he was allowed to steal from the characters, as it was part of the game, and then other people gave a value to the item, doesn't that cloud the issue? The items have no intrinsic value, yes they represent hard work and dedication, but really they can just be created out of thin air by the game designers. The items are not supposed to have real world value, and that is why they can be stolen in the game. It's an interesting collision of worlds, and might eventually leave a precedent for the value of goods in an MMORPG. Law is coming to the New Wild West.

Mark Cuban has written an interesting article on his blog on who ClickFraud effects and how. http://www.blogmaverick.com/

That means they are going to cut out the plot, drama, human interaction, relationships and any feelings. For Hollywood, that's about right.

Yes, points can be bought and sold...
I'm sorry, i guess they are a commodity too. Just not a freely available one. I would like to buy a super bowl point though. Just so it's mine.

Their website drives me towards violence. It's such bad, bad flash... and no text version available...
