Um no. What you see as a frontline consumer of government services (ala DMV/IRS) is nothing like what you would see if you had the appropriate clearance and access to the backend portions of both agencies directly serving the public, and the national security establishment. Government security for classified systems (and backend systems that handle non classified data) is incredibly well thought out and executed.
I couldn't agree more. Google has produced NOTHING else of any substance beyond search. And even then the search isn't all that great. The algorithim isn't even all that inovative and is implemented by many search engines.
Absolutely.
I have used this approach for several years and it works for me just fine.
I will go through all of the various options and scenarios with my peers and then present it to my manager. Get your ducks in a row and then ask. Works much better that way.
Awesome!!!!
Hopefully he will get fired so he can get out of the sweat shop that is Google. They pay very bad and they bribe you to work insane hours.
No I don't work there and nor do I ever want to.
Um no?
I know of several major corporations using GPL and other licensed software all through there operations. Believe it or not merit based evaulations are the norm.
I agree. Virtulization is penetrating every aspect of computing from servers to desktops. I wouldn't be surprised to see it in limited form on mobile devices.
I would say 90% of companies are using virtulization (in production/dev/qa) and the remaining 10% are using it in dev/qa, or at the very least have a plan to implement it.
The hardware/power/cooling cost savings and reduction in management overhead are to great to ignore by even the smallest shops.
I just rented that DVD 2 weeks ago. Played fine in my DVD player. Its a combo VHS+DVD system. Not sure of the brand. Of course I just installed DVD playback software on my myth box, so the DVD player will be moving to the bedroom. So not sure how widespread the new copy stuff is. I am in North Hollywood California and I rented the movie from Hollywood Video in Noho.
You didn't by chance perform the WDIG PCI assesment did you?

Actually I believe that = default selected button. So in particularly dangerous operations (like file deletion for example) Cancel is selected by default.
This is actuall a fairly common problem on Ubuntu. Your DNS is messed up. X relies heavily on DNS to function (as do all other Linux apps and Linux itself). Make sure that you have appropriate entries in your/etc/hosts file for localhost.
I do the same thing. I work very hard during the day (typically 9 hours) and when things get crazy I do 12 hours on and 12 hours off. I have Sunday dedicated as a date day for my wife. So we both do our own thing during the week and spend the day together on Sunday.
Works out very well.
If there was a nice piece of software that could let me run all of my nodes as VM servers and let users dynamically provision VMs and boot specified images as cluster nodes with different specs for development and production runs, that would be great. Anyone know of such software?
Again this is incorrect. It is highly unlikely that an officer would shoot someone using a taser. They would simply subdue them via standard methods not involving weapons. Lethal force is only authorized where there is a clear and direct danger to life of yourself or others around you. Tasering is non lethal. Also most cops are very bad shots. They would cause much more damage by drawing and firing there weapon. Not to mention the automatic suspension/probation that results from an officer involved shooting.
I higly doubt it would result in a police officer drawing there weapon and killing. This would be an unauthorized use of lethal force. Being tasered is not lethal. It is possible to subdue someone who is tasering you. Shooting and killing them is overkill and would not hold up in court. Remember lethal response is only allowed against lethal force/weapons.
I would say its a very effective deterrent. If I am a police officer or other law enforcement agent and I am subduing a suspect, I would use my gun as a deterrent. This is why after a car chase the agent stetps out of his vehicle with his gun drawn and ready to fire. Ordering a suspect from a vehicle with gun drawn is far more effective and safe then doing so then without the gun.

Dude it was a joke :)
Learn to empathize and read emotions and it will make life much more fun.

Well standard early adopter rules apply my friend :)

Indeed. Anti anything rhetoric gets in your way and keeps you from making sound judgements. Look at the facts. Don't spread FUD.

Its called funambol. Actually for push e-mail my blackberry works fine with a standard IMAP account I have setup.

Solomon is that you?
Um. Why did you reply to the troll? You just validated his pitiful existence :)
Totally. Antitrust was an awful movie in terms of getting technology related things right. However it had a decent story and somewhat good acting.
Well I think firewall got it right. A comment up above went into detail as to why.

I would suggest you focus on grammar and spelling a bit more. Ease off the hard core stuff just a tad. :)
And we all know privacy is very important for relationship type converstations. Like phone sex :)
