Actual damages from bittorrent have to be very small. Most people simply don't even know what bittorrent is. I know what it is, but I've only used it to grab large demos/obviously free stuff. I have better things to do with my time than wander through various video files in various states of compression (almost all lossy).
They are just being greedy for the small amount of money they might be losing. The lawyers likely take far more than that amount. The path to transhumanism won't require much money anyway. And that is what counts.
So make this book available to reduce the competition then? I suppose that is valid. I would still like to know about programming for the mathematic and linguistic aspects. As we progress to transhumanism, our thought process may become more Java and less Jaya (dialect in Chad).

I have not heard of any science fiction that is anonymous. Since science will lead to transhumans who abandon the silly idea of ego, we'll finally have works of fiction that do not need to be associated with a name. Can you name even one anonymous science-fiction book (pseudonymous doesn't count)? Getting the nature of ideas itself is bad enough that I wouldn't count on Orson to get space warfare right.

Best application--toss a huge text file into a text-to-speech app and have it spit up a low-quality mp3. One step closer to transhumanism (while looking a bit like the borg). Only problem is treo 650 only transmits phone audio. I'm assuming this one will use the bluetooth for this.
One thing I found really interesting on my Treo 650 is a decent (but mono) loudspeaker built right in. May seem like a throwback to gathering around the AM radio, but it's a real hoot with other people.

Hollow points aimed at chest and head should achieve a good kill count, while the limbs will just result in a lot of injuries. Ideally you should finish your spree with a suicide. Aim the barrel into your mouth pointing upwards. Obliterate the brainstem.
Using ear protection and even body armor is recommended. You don't want any discomfort before you kill yourself.
We are on the brink of transhumanism. Stories can be neatly divided to those related to it, and those not. This is likely not very related. When we take our last breath and not die, it will be very clear which of our activities brought us closer to the unspeakably important--the singularity. Nothing else matters.
You can either rescue the kidnapped people and put them on the shore, or take some people (kidnapped or not!) to civilization. There they can talk to the civilization to get everyone over there.
Do not try taking it everywhere. I've found the best solution is to go to extremes. A good cell-phone and a good honkin' minitower. Well until we become cyberthalamuses (then we'll become the computer).
And it's not just funding. Either religious types will go after you for using humans or environmental types will go after you for using monkeys and such. But, what about you. Do you support transhumanism? I sure do, and wish I could donate for it. Best I can think of is the Singularity Institute.
Interesting neuroscience with obvious transhuman/singularity applications always seem to be directed towards the "disabled". I even remember one scientist being quite happy at the prospect of a handicapped person being able to be employed "by using email". So to get grants they need to let loose more spammers???
Compared to what we'll become, we are plenty disabled already. It'd be nice to have someone who's actually working on these things to mention transhumanism.
Ensure or other liquid meals in the "adult nutrition" section. Once we have our nutrition all squared away we can concentrate on the singularity (and PCs).
