Problem is, people often mistake unwanted email for unsolicited email. I don't want to hear from Travelocity every week, with their weekly specials. It's unwanted, but I can cancel their letter if it gets irritating enough. The V14Gr4 ads, are not easily (or at all) cancellable. When you blend the two types of emails, people do tend to misclassify them.

Now I'm sure somoeone has thought of this scenario, and since I haven't read the article (I'm at work, so my time is not all mine), but that's the problem with automatic weapons, defensive or not. They're automatic. While that is a huge benefit in and of itself, some smart assailant will figure out how to activate this system against civilians. That seem to be how wars are fought these days anyhow. . . .

I've never understood why no one else does that. Chances are everyone has a small community college somehwere close by. Pay the $25 and enroll. Then buy all the educationally priced software you want on Ebay or wherever you want. You don't have to enroll for classes, and you make the $25 back on your first purchase.

Or, sign up with a homeschooling organization. It shouldn't cost you anything but time (and kids, but you might already have some). Great, now you're a homeschooling parent. Sure the only topic you teach is Microwave Cooking 101, but your're a homeschool teacher.

Get creative here people, and quit complaining about high M$ software prices. Get the tools to do the job, so your're not switching formats/platforms/hairpieces so often.

It seems like this would make it easier to store items like music/photos. You could search for all mp3's relating to Jazz, and you would pull up albums labeled "All that Jazz", as well as those of that genre, without having to wonder about where on the harddrive they are stored. Sure, it would take some getting used to, but just like (almost) anything else, we'd get used to it.
