This system was hacked years ago by a handful of teenagers trying to get more minutes on their public phone calling cards (when Cellphones were not as popular as they're today)
The method was exactly the same, strip an already used card of the circuit logic and file it so it fitted alongside a good card, this made the phone charge the funds but not update the remaining funds on the good card, rinse-and-repeat.
Chip and PIN is of course, not secure, but at least it beats (if by little) the CHIPless cards that are way easier and cheaper to clone.
I have placed a lot of orders trough google checkout, and i live outside the US.
I had no problem so far, very fast and secure.
I have one complaint. tracking numbers have to be get by phone when you select to protect spam from the seller (as in google receives the store's email to you so they can filter it.)
The only catch is to have an US physical address to get shipments , but your billing adress can be an international one, the one linked to the credit card for example, you can even pay with an non-US Credit Card, wich is nice because paypal sucks badly and freezes accounts for no reason, but i assume you all know that.
Having used Mailman plenty of times for large periods, we have a couple of rather large mailman lists, presently, there are two of them wich i administer whose e-mail addresses consists nearly of 90% gmail users, without a single glitch or problem, it's not a mailman fault, it could be a sf.net issue with their mail servers, or a google issue, but it's definetly not a mailman issue.
If indeed intel made such practices then their arse is on the line, not necessarily a Anti-trust case similar as was with M$ (coz' the case brought up elsewhere than the US), obviously intel is gonna suffer with a non favorable ruling.
I think the source code for icc is not needed as many of you already now that when using it on a AMD processor you need to pass the option to, let's say, "skip microprocessor detection".
I'll like to see intel making good products and really competing , and, believe me, i don't like intel, but AMD is far beyond them right now, and if intel steps a lot behind (be it for any reason whatsoever), AMD will still make good products and maybe slow down innovation, and thats not good for either side.
Maybe im totally wrong, who knows?, but AFAIK it's evident that intel will need to address their marketing (And PR) practices, coz' they have the money to really make good products, and really compete the right way.
On a side note, i would like to see a ad where the blue man group get's smashed with a building scaffolding with some buckets of green paint on it.:D
As has been said in previous replys to your post, it's obvious that intel (altough keeping it's position as a player on the microprocessor ground) it's really falling behind competitors, such as IBM itself and obviously AMD, wich has demostrated recently that can do more than just "cloning" PI's or PII's
It makes me wonder why Apple didn't choose AMD, we all know that in terms of price AMD is also winning, and could pretty much kill Intel in the foreseeable future.
New players come in to town with different architectures such as IBM/Sony with their Cell chip, and only IBM with the new line up for the PPC cores, so...
Definetly something that will we need to follow later on.
You're right in that Intel started developing 64 bit chips earlier, but as already said, they did it the wrong way.
It's disspointing to download the iso images and then realizing that the OS's doesn't come with even a c compiler:(, and don't get me started with pkgadd.... SUCKS
And if you plan to get KDE, Keep waiting..
Gnome.... and even when i selected it from the install the solaris X Login manager doesn't list it
Microsoft did this a long time ago, it was called MSAV, was very BAD..., came with 3.11 or the lastest reworks of DOS 6.22 i think they (as with this "Spyware" solution) re-branded it when buyed from other company..
Im From Venezuela, and i also Follow Slahsdot Very Closely, and seeing this thread about how the Government Adopted a FOSS policy, prompts me to finally create an account and post a good reply to the news..
I, like many other Lug members in this country, where in a Forum whose hosts were mainly RMS and the aforementioned ex-Minister of Technology Felipe Perez Marti
In this Forum apart of demostrating other technologies and hearing RMS's Speech, the reasons to adopt Open Source by the Goverment where exposed and these are:
1) Improve Education Trough FOSS
2) Cut Costs in Government IT sectors
3) Develop a joint Strategy With Brazil to Implement FOSS nationwide and not only in Government Agencies and Institutions.
4) Better Access to Technology for Everyone
5) Stay updated in new Software Technolgies
6) Use FOSS in Universities and Superior Education Institutes to Teach others how to implement, use and improve over Open Source.
These are the main reasons, altough there are some others that arent as important as these that where what the former minister told the people tha t assisted the forum in November..
RMS couldn't talk properly because he had a horrible flu, and every other word a cough spelled out
i see that in some replys to this article, there are Chavez supporters, or "Chavistas" as we call them here, i personally don't like the Chavez Administration, but i cannot disagree with this decree, as it makes a lot of sense even for the private sector, that should start noting a lot more FOSS for now on...
Im not going to attack Chavez supporters here, the only thing i say is, before you believe either me or any of them, please, read every media in Venezuela before making an opinion!

Win32 is not a Thin Wrapper for ASM, it's a Thin Wrapper to a Thin Wrapper for ASM (DOS)
You see, there are still dreamers in this world
P.D. Mod me down as a Troll
Troll
The enemy of my enemy, it's my friend :-D
