Nice plugin. Too bad it doesn't do the 768 kbps video.

Someone could write an extension that makes launch work in firefox, couldn't they? Someone wrote a script to make the videos play in xbox media center, so it's not impossible to make something that makes it work in other non-IE/non-Windows stuff.
What does the BSD TCP/IP stack have to do with Microsoft owning parts of OS/2? The people you are replying to made no mentions of TCP/IP.

That does seem pretty serious. View-source doesn't seem to do that, why don't they just have save webpage as HTML just save the output from view-source?
I'm sure there are plenty of Japanese people "taking sledgehammers" to American art as well. Do you think people in Japan watch American made movies with English audio and Japanese subs, or just listen to the dub? I'd rather listen to the dialogue than read it in a video. You can have your subtitled stuff, I'll stick with dubs. As will most people, in the USA, Japan, and the rest of the world.
Yeah, TLC now sucks. I don't want trading spaces, I want Junkyard Wars, maybe some forensics show, etc. And Discovery has the Americna Chopper show. I don't care about motorcycles. There is the Discovery Science channel though. I watch some stuff on there. The once great tech channel known as ZDTV has now become G4, a shell of it's former self. A variety of channels is good though. I like watching game shows, and GSN still has enough from Game Show Network to be a good channel. I also love watching cartoons, and I like having multiple channels. I've never even heard of this $40 a day though. Seeing as how you hate it so much, as I probably would as well, why not just stay away from it? Does FoodTV actually have anything worth watching? BTW, surprised no one has attacked you on your comment about gays.
Hm..we have two blockbusters, a hollywood video, and a family video within a few miles from our house. Actually, looking at the store locator, there's three. One.7 miles away, a better one (because it has gamerush) 1 mile away, and another one 1.5 miles away. The first was because Blockbuster bought out a local store. Living in a suburb in the midwest. They probably should've focused more on building and maintaining Blockbusters in places where there are no good ones than building three within a mile of each other though.
After hours? Blockbuster is open till midnight, and they have a human working there the whole time they're open. Nice place to shop for games after 9 as well. And the image you paint is rather disturbing.

It was known that Nintendo would release a USB wifi adapter to share a connection for a month or two. Don't have a specific link, but I remember reading about it.
It might take a while. DVD audio was just recently cracked, right? And it's more of a workaround. Windows Media DRM/5c/other types of DRM haven't been cracked. These people who think it will be cracked in no time at all are in for a letdown.
It doesn't have to do with the codecs. It has to do with the fact that the video was captured with a camcorder. You could get it uncompressed, but because it was shot with a cam, it would still look horrible. If you're talking about DVD rips, then they easily might look almost the same quality as the DVD.
You sure it's illegal? See the wikipedia entry on modchips. It appears only modchips with hacked bioses are illegal under the DMCA. That's why they're sold loaded with bioses like chromwell, which can only run linux. However, most people do download an illegal bios elsewhere and flash it to the chip. But the chip itself is not illegal.
I got into gaming because of Mario Kart 64, and I'm very satisfied with having bought that game. Other game that I felt were well worth the purchase include: Super Smash Bros, Goldeneye, kind of Pokemon Puzzle League (I had never played Tetris Attack before), Paper Mario 2, to a lesser extent Mario & Lugigi: Superstar Saga, Mechassault, and Epic Pinball (got Crash & Burn and Enigma from Blockbuster, played at home, brought it to school to play during break). Probably Burnout 3 also, spent many many hours on that game. Probably some that I'm forgetting.
AFAIK, not with comcast. Their HD DVR box at least transfers the video through firewire unencrypted. Not sure about other boxes, but I would not call firewire a "no-go".
Apparently, Google's VLC doesn't have a GUI. It starts in a debug mode interface. And you can't launch it with wxwin. So they launched the player, but the videos launch later?
Me and my friends used to play this game called Wormhole by Centerfleet at lunch a lot. Unfortuentally, it no longer exists. Anyone ever play it? You could play Crack attack for a free game. Otherwise, you could probably get in a round of Worms. As someone else suggested, playing SNES on emulation might be fun. I like Family Feud. I'm not sure if you can get in a game or not, but I believe you can use savestates.

In XP Pro at least. Only admin and limited in XP Home.

Actually, if you bought your computer from Compaq or something the day before XP was released, they'd probably give you a free upgrade later.

There are several for streaming. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/view/ 51 Frontline episodes. Some Nova stuff as well http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/programs.html Still no downloading due to "rights issues" though. I suppose you could use a streamripper. The quality isn't that good. Streaming is better than nothing though.

Hopefully, they make it compatible with the PS3 and Xbox 360. I already have a dvr from my cable company, and I'm not going to get a tivo.

Well, I guess they'll just sell to the US and ignore the UK. Not really a problem for them there.

Many third party controllers don't "completely die", but they still soon become unusable. Were the wireless controllers made by a third party?

So, would you rather get HD-DVD, which has windows, or blu-ray which has java? Or are you never going to get a high definition dvd player?

You sure? I see some Family Guy episodes on there. At least one uploaded illegally.

It's played a bit in Michigan as well, and we also don't pronounce the e. Euchre is pretty awesome.
