Yes, I agree. Life is enjoyable, but it has natural limits. Defying these limits rely on certain requirements risks and even more limititations, however.
example:
I'd really like to be able to fly, but gravity denies me this privlege without the use of some mechanism to achieve it. Even then there are rules that must be followed in order to achieve the desired outcome.
This is just one example of what you speak of. Life is quite enjoyable, but there are many limitations, natural and otherwise. Any enjoyment must be bound by rules and limitations. To eat meat, things must die, reagardless of whether it's percieved as "right" or "wrong."
What goldspider said.
We could get a long perfectly well seeing in black & white, or a gross shade of brown, like dogs do. But we in fact, see colors because it's... better.
Same with taste. Why does everything have taste? More importantly, why does everything edible taste good and (most) everything harmful taste bad? We don't even have to have taste to get sustenance. But we do because it's... better.
And there are more efficient ways to eat than meat, but enjoyment isn't always the result of effeciency. And what is the point of life if it isn't as enjoyable as possible?
As an aspiring game music composer, I'm beginning to realise that you're worth every bit that much to produce quality music. You really have to pour your heart and soul into every note in order to make a memorable soundtrack, no matter what the budget.
Books are nice, but games are also nice. That's the problem Books and games are both works of art, but there are problems getting games to develop characters in games. Going out and reading a book dosen't solve anything if what you really want to so is play a game. Promoting character development in games to more closely resemble how it is in books is the goal the article mentioned. By telling us to go read books instead, you're slightly off-topic.
TFA talks about minorites in game development. Not just minority gamers, or minorities in games. It's all about equal representation. Who else can represent a group of people better than members from that group? Thus, with more minorities making games, you'll likely have more minorities paying them as well, as they are more accurately represented.
... hahahaha...... What's that supposed to mean?
You fail to remember that they are a legitimate company. Yes, games are happy happy fun fun, but the companies that make them are serious companies that take requests such as this one, and the Hot Coffee fiasco seriously. Just like any other company. They're not a bunch kids working on games in their garage.
Part of the game was that when people die , they live in another form.
Yes, and that form is lifestream, which Aerith gathered to defeat the meteor. Without her beind dead to be there, it wouldn't have happened. She's dead.
She did more than just yield the materia. She was also responsible for gathering the life-force together to you know... save the freaking planet. The death was a nessecary tragedy.
It was a hugely successfuly game that put Squaresoft on the map in America. It has a huge following and fanbase even today. It has sceeens that are just begging for a current graphics makeover (Pheonix cave, even thought it was done beautifully for it's time).
There are some players who take that game pretty deep. In a competitive tournament enironment, that game very well can help develop real-world thinking and problem-solving skills.
It might be a new trend commercially, but it's been around for a bit. I remember writing a creative writing bit for class about Goldilocks' version of the 3 bears encounter. It ended up a rretty amusing story.
In the data center I work in we had to transfer a few terrabytes worth of data from optical platters to SAN. We ended up using a vendor app, but I was thinking of developing a specialized Bittorent client for the job.
He might be on to something. There is a goatse pic on the site, afterall.

How is this a troll? It's the complete and utter truth.
You sure that's not Marvin? :^P

I was referring to the sequence in which Locke actually finds the Pheonix materia. Not, the cave itself.
Vader's will fetch more.
