Perhaps they could do something more sensible than just dropping a network from search results. I'm imagining a variation of the cable tv "call your network and tell them you'll cancel service if they don't keep FX"(just an example..). Perhaps right under every result from the networks domain would have a link (under the Cache link and all that) to some google spin suggesting you contact the network and tell them to give you google tv.

Pretty sure this guy is on to something. Even a quarter of a percentage drop in accidents would cover it over 8 years I bet. Accidents are expensive, not just for drivers and insurance companies (Ok, insurance companies make money in the grand scheme). Accidents require many police, emt, and and electric linemen to get things back to normal. Thats salaries, in some cases pensions and retirement. Just a thought.

It is in the contract between a BP subsidiary (gulf deepwell exploration only is what this subsidiary does) and the obama administration. Basically, only that subsidiary agrees to pay anything, and they are solely deep wells. So, if no more deep well exploration is going on, they "don't know" if they will be able to pay. I wish I had sources on this, but I heard it on the radio, so I'm not 100% on it, perhaps someone else can fill in the blanks.

It's not like your going to get it any later if you don't get your pre-order in right now, because no one else is getting in the line either. This isn't news, and OP's run on sentence is really how slashdot reads some times. "Filter out apple stories" you say? But then there is a slim chance I'll miss some real news.

prison stay for failure to blow? not so much, i have no idea where your getting this from, its a mandatory DL suspension. atleast not in florida, and the only state more backward is texas when it comes to arresting the most people possible and trying to send them to prison. in fact if you fail to blow, do the field sobriety test and don't make a fool out of yourself (ie your just "a little" drunk). the prosecutor will drop it down to reckless driving. your license is still suspended for a year for failure to blow BUT you can get a hardship permit after 3 months for work and school which you would not be eligible for with a DUI. Also DUIs stay on your record a lot longer/forever and are worse on insurance than a reckless.
