I am at a loss to explain it but there seems to be a relationship between the word king and donkey in Japanese at lease when translating it into English because I have seen this in other places.
No more like selling airplanes...
You can have all the free space you want (remember to hold your breath). Me? I'm going to pay for a seat on the spaceship (with things like air and heat) if I go.
Hold on... Since when is the homoginized, processed, bleached and dary free material produced by the record companies culture?
The tail is waging the dog here... the entertanment producers have figured out how to tell us what to like, our "culture" does not reflect a greater truth about our humanity other than how it has been diminished.
Having said that, I am a hypocrite, I have a modes music collection, I watch some TV and I enjoy movies. I at least try to form my own opinions about what to like and not like.
Well it is all frequency of electomagnetic pulses... but you are right the comparison is mighty strange.
It seems the linked article was writen (badly) for a non technical audiance by a non technical author... So why write about super cold and super fast processors?
That is exactly my point... the trend seems to be moving towards normalisation.
What is going to happen when we run out of poor economies to abuse and also what happens when we have to compete with these new and motivated economies directly? (Not just for jobs, but also in inovation.)
Am I the only one who sees this as utterly fascinating?
In a way US corporation going to India stimulated this growth. It is interesting to me that India has changed because of outside investment but the way they have changed has made them less appealing to those same investors.
They could... but I think they would rather slowly die, producing less and less relivant content and charging more and more for it rather than adapt to a new busness model.
Good for you... high end PC gameing is highly over rated anyway... so long as you respect my decision to waste perfectly good money on Hardware to play the new stuff.:)
Don't get me wrong I am not passing judgement here... it is all about your taste really, I tend to prefer games like Oblivion to games like FFVII but it is not comparing apples to apples.
Plus why exactly do we care about a reporters opinion or the outcome of a poll? It won't lessen you love of Final Fantasy style RPGs or my love of Elder Scroll style RPGs.
Nostalgia makes everything old seem good.
FFVII was a great game (perhaps the greatest) in it's time but any flaws it did have fade from our collective minds over time.
I say the video game press should let people keep there fuzzy memories and stop this endless stream of lists of top games and apple orange caparisons between the modern popular games and the classics.
If this is the only way to fill the pages of a gaming mag (or blog or site) that should tell us something.

I think the GPs point was (IANAMR) is that there are plenty of games (BMXXX for example) that exist only to cash in on the sex and violence market (this was especaly bad IMO on the xbox) and if the MA rating was not a badge of honor (like the Expicit Lyrics lable) then perhaps more time would be spent providing quality entertanment and not "breast jiggle".
On the other hand there are games that are inovative dispite (or because the commit fully to) violent or mature content... just like a good action or horror movie.
Senators and Fundimentalist will never openly like videogames (at least not for another 25 years) but that should not be an excuse to pass laws restricting there sale to adults.
I would like to say hat this is a good idea. Anyone who feels that gameing has become an addiction and wants to "break the habit" should be able to ask for help. Really it is good to see games taken seriously even if in a somewhat negative light.
If someone here in the states went to a 12 step program to try and kick a destructive gameing habit I think they would be laughed right out of the clinc.
People don't see this as a real problem but gameing can bring out OCD and addictive behavior in people prone to it, making it dangerous to them while perfectly fine for everyone else.
Close... I think it was supposed to be King Kong.

yeah I think it was the doorknob in the cheek that finaly made it the more (electricaly) attractive head...
Err... no wonder it sounds like a Viagra competitor.
Yeah... I mean the Russians didn't even have Xbox 360s during the cold war.
The Russians of the late sixties and early seventies need to get with the times, I bet they didn't even have plastation 2.
Or, for that matter, electronics. ...I wouldn't even know how to intentoanly make a tape player/radio into a bomb let alone do it accidentaly.

Microsoft misleading? Naw...

Globalization is bitch, isn't it?

Or maybe we are just all complaning about a problem we created.
We want games released quickly, with simple twist free stories and game play we are comfortable with.
Look at the outrage over MGS2... people will revolt if you try to inovate so it makes more sense to sell the sequels.

here you go...
My brother played DDO at launch and from what I saw I was curious about the grouping and the level requiremets.
I didn't get a chance to try it before he un-subscribed, but it looked like a fun game even if it needed some tweaking.
I will have to tell him about this in case he wants to re-subscribe because of these changes.
You have a point.
Why would an employee need that kind (and size) of data for home work?
If this is stupidity... it is likely that he didn't intend to take it home at all.
That makes sense... though I can still say that I did not know that active duty personel where affected.
I wonder how such an editorial (and Michael More esq*) summery made it on to the front page.
*I identify myself as in the center and more liberal than conservative but I still think Michael More is a huge jack ass... go figure.
It's not a Dupe... this is a diffrent theft, the origonal data stolen was from the V.A. database.
It just happened exactly the same way...
I guess Slashdot can't help if the news is repetative.
Absolutely... My only point is that if someone is ready to get help they should be helped.
It has been my experince that the first and hardest step is to ask for help.
And yeah I should have chosen my words more carefully.

I do not beleve it is 100% firmware based but don't quote me. But relax it's Microsoft what's the worst... oh, right, never mind.
