I have a lot of indie games in my steam library that support linux. I will be VERY interested to check this out once it hits general release, and those developers start pushing out the linux versions on steam. Will be nice to start losing my last few reasons for choosing windows as my primary OS.
I just moved to an ok (Not great, not terrible) part of south berkeley, and got a 3 bedroom condo for $410k. Houses a block from me are going for around $430k. This is also 6 blocks from BART, so you can easily work in the city, and live in the east bay. Schools: No idea, but then again, I have no kids either.
I'm using component cable. Works great when I plug it directly into the TV, but then I don't get surround sound. Plug it into the receiver, and it jitters, but sound works.
Plug the video into the TV and audio into the receiver: Possible, but I'd need to extend the cables, and it makes it more of a pain to switch over.
The PS2 I have plugged into my home theatre setup, and it jitters up and down every other frame. The media PC hooked up via HDMI has no issues. Thus, using an emulator will grant me superior performance, and legible text.
Looking into the issue appears to indicate that the problem is that I have a receiver that upscales the video, and a TV that does the same. However, neither my receiver nor my TV seem to have settings allowing me to fully fix it. I've made it _better_, but its still garbage for my RPG collection. I'm in the process of setting up and evaluating PCSX2, as it would greatly enhance my ability to enjoy my game collection, without buying a TV just for PS2 usage.
The Sims series by EA does exactly that. One downfall it ends up causing is that if you have all of the Sims 2 expansions, and get a new computer, it will take over 4 hours to get the game fully installed, with LOTS of disk switching.
Not really. He never mentioned overwriting the tapes, nor destroying them after use. These tapes could have easily been stored, and digitized once that technology became cheap and common. Either way, its NOT ok for theaters to be doing this, and I bet it won't even make a dent in piracy.
Tiger Team, Episode 2. Penetration testers use an RFID skimmer to clone the passcard of the owner of a jewelery company, then use the skimmed data to spoof the card reader to get into his office. From there, they crack the safe, and take a picture of themselves wearing all the jewelery that was in said safe.
Tiger Team was very interesting to watch, I'm sad it got canceled.
I spent several month searching for something like this. Open-source voice recognition is in really infant stages, and there does not seem to be much interested in improving the few things we have.
Nowadays it might be better and cheaper to go with 1.3 Ghz phones. Uses the TV bands that were freed up. I have one and have wonderfully interference-free calls.
How, exactly, are they pirates? There was no minimum amount set. If I got a game on sale for $15 instead of the retail $60, does that make me a pirate? Last I checked, I still bought goods at a price they were willing to be sold at.
I got ganked in the loading screen while exiting a station in 0.0, left in a full transport ship, arrived in a destroied escape pod. Shortly after, I stopped playing, because I didn't want to deal with that kinda crap.
This is actually far more scary than the title would lead you to believe.
Scaring online poker players and internet gambling aficionados in Massachusetts is text found on page 123 of the 172-page bill. It reads, “Any person who knowingly transmits or receives a wager of any type by any telecommunication device, including telephone, cellular phone, internet, [or] local area network or knowingly installs or maintains said device or equipment for the transmission or receipt of wagering information shall be punished.” The penalty is a hefty one, up to two years behind bars and a fine of up to $25,000.
Translation: if you are in Mass, and you send an email to a buddy along the lines of "Five bucks says Lumburgh is gonna make me come in on Saturday" can get you put in jail and fined.
I hit that one, and came to a good setup.
Both cell and landline have answering machine turned off, and if I am at home and only one phone rings, I do not answer it. Took about a week to get the stubborn family members to call via GV
Do you use any steak or barbeque sauce on your steak? A1 has HFCS, as does most other sauces. Even ketchup. Check some food lablels in your house, its probably listed on most of the packages.
I bought the disk. I am holding the disk. Why are you saying that I do not have the right to use all the ones and zeros that are on the disk I purchased? I believe the purchase of these ones and zeros does, in fact, entitle me to all of them.
When I am reading the paper, with relaxing music in the background, the newspaper does not start talking to me.
Websites, however, do. If I am reading slashdot articles in google reader, the last thing I want is to have a bunch of articles pre-load and start talking, desynched just enough to be very loud cacophony.
This happened looking at _this_ article, causing me to find and install an ad-blocker in chrome. If its an ad in a video, feel free to talk to me, or play music. But, if I am reading, STFU!

We have color photos from mars - they were just using black and white for testing and saving bandwidth. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/msl/multimedia/gallery-indexEvents.html

So did the guy who scanned the pirate copy.
If steam won't, my bet is the pirates will. In fact, they already have versions of steam out there with all the DRM killed.

Actually, a modchip for the PS3 just came out. http://www.pcworld.com/article/203788/hackers_claim_jailbreak_victory_with_playstation_3_usb_key.html?tk=hp_new
Someone actually did a test like that. Tried a high-end cable, lamp wire, and even soldered coathangers together. Listeners couldn't tell the difference. http://consumerist.com/2008/03/do-coat-hangers-sound-as-good-monster-cables.html

Indeed I am. Should have looked it up before posting.
I believe Assange is Austrian, not Austrailian. One is in Europe, the other is southeast of Thailand.

Havn't done much testing. Covers my apartment with no worries, but thats not saying too much.

Even more fun. Chinese player and a Ukranian player on a US server. What law/court are you in now?
