    When I think about this, I've gotta think it has less to do with 'kids these days' but really, the Internet. I'll bet if we grow up in that environment it'll probably be similar outcome. Remember that cheesy term tossed around in mid 90s "information superhighway"? I think this is the evidence of that.

    Actually, the first question is, why are you talking to VC? You need to raise money, for what? As other mentioned VC are interested in business not so much IP.

    In earlier days of extended warranty, my co-worker showed me that he's going to replace his 'broken' ipod when it's 2.75 years old, when they do cover accidents (anything, they say). Can't put full blame on the providers go to the other extreme.

    Honestly if most people buy guns for security not just entertainment I'm not sure why I'm reading people here saying "1000 rounds", "2500 rounds"....etc. If it is PURE security the gun should be designed and engineered to fire extreme reliably N number of shots, and N shouldn't be in thousands range.

    Now that's interesting point - in theory at some point in time the bitcoin economy should be big enough to be 'independent' from real-world currency. Now that if there is at least some people comply to this, then there'll always be that link/hole.

    Ditto. It's not regarding pretty girl and what-not but I think unless you've done the startup thing and knocking on every single investors door, people assumes getting early financing is just a matter of 'doing it'.

    See first Insightful comment in the beginning. I'm not sure why you won't consider this a robot. You want a real head and 4 limbs? Well then obviously there's no robot by this definitely in any of the automotive plant. Complexity of the task? Think about the actual task this machine is doing - slicing consistently from a big elastic dough to thin strips of noodles.

    A note that this is a specific type of noodle called "knife-sliced noodles". Obviously not all noodles are made like this nor all restaurant serve this type of noodle.

    I disagree for many parts. Cash-in and enjoy? Unlikely for people like this in 50s. See robnelle 541339 comment above. They are not in any way leading in the 'big money earner' (aka growth area) you mentioned in cloud or console. Stockholders want stock to rise, and for the most part it requires growth of the company, not just generating steady profit.

    I think if there's a puke factor, it is not because the 'uncanny valley' thing which implies fake things are too real. This set up is nice but far from 'close to real'. Awkwardness of all the strap-on, not everything is matched in-game in terms of body posture, resolutions...etc. I'm sure I'll be the first to get pukey if I use this but it probably is similar to when I play 3D Wolfenstein for the first time - it is not good enough.

" THIS. To me there's no OS game any more. With the computer power there'll be more sandboxing. And do we need any more 'new features' from the OS? To me OS is really commoditized. Common people don't need to "care" about the OS anymore.

    Actually I think they get paid by the volume of viewer watching the ads (via price of advert)! In effect they should compensate Aereo for distributing to larger audience!

    You're being too harsh but I find it unfortunate that he never got to understand video games. My guess is he never play much, if any games. If he took the time to learn the control and play a classic from start to finish like Zelda or something...
