Heh, my Macbook Pro couldn't handle the 4k, at least played by flash, 4k (or "original") didn't show up in html5 mode.
But what's more interesting for me is that, it's as if they (or someone else upstream from me, like my isp) upped the bandwidth cap from the painful 100-200KB/sec (which can't keep up with 720p videos) to a more pleasant 1.3MB/sec.
Feels stupid to have 200/10 cable and wait for videos to buffer on youtube (while other sites like vimeo are swift).
In defense missions, choose the small and fast and cheap mech (locust?), go *around* the attackers and shoot the legs, the AI doesn't handle attacking from behind well.
Now, how the heck did I remember that. I was like eight when I played that game...
What... are these "fax"-machines? I thought it was customary to explain arcane, antique or cutting-edge terms in the summary.
I think I heard once, that there is one of these machines hidden in one dark corner of our office, mainly used by the office troll to send out pranks to rivaling companies.
I bought a Linkstation Live 250gig for about 150eur.
The neat thing about it is that you can reinstall the firmware to be a full-blown debian system. Read more at NAS Central.
The enclosed hard-drive is a normal SATA-drive and can be changed. Also the network interface is 1gig-ethernet for speedy copying in local network. Awesome price to feature and quality ratio.
If you are like me, and have never heard of "Black friday" which this Friday apparently is, wikipedia tells this:
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, is historically one of the busiest retail shopping days of the year. Many consider it the "official" beginning to the holiday season. Most retailers will open very early and usually provide massive discounts on their products.
But did you notice, when customizing the macbook pro, you now have an *option* to choose between glossy and non-glossy (and there seems to be no price difference)
Which is rather cool I think.
What you have just described is Apple's Frameworks
This might work on other systems with gcc aswell.
Since I got my first iBook and learned about frameworks, I've pondered, why the heck doesn't any of the linux distributions use them.
I remember thunderbirds having ability to detect(!) if someone was shooting them and then erase the film (with I guess something like really powerful magnet).. could of been useful tech for them!
If you don't like fiddling the plugins directory yourself, there is a freeware PDF speedup that gives you semi-sensible gui for disabling unneeded stuff. After that acrobat reader is almost bearable in speed compared to Preview on my iBook..
A friend of mine actually bought it.
So far we've only playd it once. It was actually rather good boardgame, infact I enjoyed it more than the actual computer game, but the one level we played took some four hours to play, which I think is rather too involving.. Granted it might of been the first-time hassle that prolonged the session.
I recommend boardgame fanatics to try it out, just remember to reserve a good full sunday afternoon for it:)

Are you sure it wasn't Mafia Wars?

So, half-life of around seven and half years?
I found Little Book of Semaphores a good read.
Cure for the internet!
Widely available video conferencing could change tech support! "Which slot should I plug this wire to?"

something exciting? Say, something like Las Vegas? :)
I for one, welcome our new Master of Orion.
Don't worry, theres no sugar!

Alone in the dark! Atmospheric sounds and low-poly monsters played in a dark basement..

Press Release
Ah, but if we are going to go this route, I'd rather go for this offering.
(Sorry, the site is rather awful, check out the source, eww)
How about a $2000 laptop? You wouldn't still care?
Well, there already is a python port
Personally, I'd like ruby, but each to its own I guess.
Or better known as 'the nipple'.

PS. You can actually see something in this game!
