"Also joining the swelling ranks of publishers without any Cube titles in their portfolios (...)"
This is the biggest load of FUD I have ever seen. How can the list of publishers with no title for a specific system possibly grow with respect to publishers that have been around for ages? That's like saying "55-year old Area Man recently joined the ranks of people that have never eaten fruit in their entire lives."
The only way for the list of non-GC publishers to grow, is if new publishers come out with non-GC games.
I'm sure (or at least hoping) that they will focus on gaming for the next SERIOUS Game Boy successor.
Nintendo has already admitted multiple times that the DS will be an experiment, and that people won't understand it. This is Nintendo's latest toy, and they're going to try every last "good idea" on it they can come up with.
I for one am glad they're adding this to the DS. Now if they add it to the Game Boy Super-Advance, I'll be annoyed.
I apologize to anyone who was offended by my statement. I merely tried to point out (perhaps in a rather politically uncorrect way) that game designers are already not able to make their games playable by EVERYONE.
If two sides can communicate well enough to teach eachother a third language, wouldn't they be able to communicate, period?
And if you need to install software on either end so they can go through this teaching process, isn't it easier to just install a TCP/IP stack on both ends?
I'm sure the initial product will be free, but something makes me think that MS will be just as eager to charge you a monthly fee for Virus Definition Updates.
Kind of makes you wonder, what would be considered an excessive velocity? Is there an acceptable velocity for a metal rod being flung from space at the earth?
In summary: While multi-display gaming would be cool, the hardware and software takes time to set up, and not enough game developers have multi-display on their mind when they produce games.
I agree, especially with " trying to spend time finishing the ones I have rather than buying new games."
I still have 'Christmas money' to spend on video games, but while there are a few out there I would like to play, I know that I only have time for one game at a time, if that. And now that I know how much heat/electricity you can get for the price of one video game, I make sure I get the most out of every game I buy.
I just wanted to be "in" on all the jokes about towels, fish, digital watches and, ofcourse, 42. Then I found out that the books are just ingeniously funny.
Borrow the book from a library or a friend. Read the first chapter. If you chuckle at least once, you need to own it.
From the GameInformer article: With an increased amount of storage in a small package, we think this semiconductor memory will allow us to maintain our stellar anti-shock protection while keeping the size and weight of the portable device to a minimum. Its not going to be optical discs.
What kind of a device needs anti-shock protection, but does not use optical disks? Will this thing include a tiny hard drive?
At the very leasy these gyms could push the generated power back into the power grid. They could even get paid for it by the power company.
Do I smell a new business model here?
(Replying to myself because I finally understand.)
Apparently "portfolio" means "future plans".
bah humbug.

Again, I apologize.
Probably the same way a controller-operated game works for someone with Parkinson's: not very well.
(Hoping some Lucasarts rep will actually read some of these posts.)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Sam & Max was one of the great adventures of yore, and I would have given my first child (or at least $50) to see another attempt at such greatness.
(I didn't read the article yet.)

ok, off to read the article...
So basically, they proved that if you flip a coin so that it fully rotates 0 or more times, it will land on the same side it started.
Excellent! I wonder how it will land if you rotate it N+0.5 times! Oohh the mysteries of science...
How nice! Our big government brother got himself a little corporate brother.
Congratulations.
If you want more secure software, upgrade.
What is a Patch other than a (small) upgrade of the software?
The only benefit I can see of upgrading v.s patching, is that MS doesn't need to disclose what got 'patched' in the upgrade.
I'm sure the initial product will be free, but something makes me think that MS will be just as eager to charge you a monthly fee for Virus Definition Updates.
Oh yes, I feel safer already!

excessive velocity

Cable, phone and internet over the same line?
Does it come with a free carrier pigeon to contact tech support when there are problems?
In summary: While multi-display gaming would be cool, the hardware and software takes time to set up, and not enough game developers have multi-display on their mind when they produce games.
Cue Nintendo DS.

Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle. Most warped type of logic in an adventure game *ever*, and yet one of the most enjoyable ones.
What was it that drew everyone to Hitchhiker's?

FYI: The close-tag for is not optional.
Mike also is working feverishly to put together a new Web site, his father said.
He has seen the light! Onward to get a GameCube (www.ninetendo.com) and a PlayStation (www.soknee.com)?
And ofcourse that should be an "==" instead of an "=".
use 5; use strict 'subs';
study $ARG; for (;time = defined;) {}
do{ not (wait or sleep) };
Maybe I'm missing the obvious but, why does the gameboy need anti-shock properties?
