    Yeah, I'm in the UK and my upload is only 3Mbps (so a little faster, but still painful to use!). Not good.

    Have you tried the Mozilla Weave project? It offers bookmark syncing among other synching features. It will likely be integrated into the browser at somepoint. http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/12/introducing-weave/

    I don't think this is very likely to happen... I have never played Wow, and don't know anyone who has even heard of it... I have only heard of it from slashdot! Why would chatrooms in general not create this? What is so unique about WoW?

    I have one of those Belkin USB adaptors as well. Using Kanotix it is automatically detected, support is built into the kernel... Kanotix is the way forwards!

    My father is a wedding photographer, we had someone email him and ask for him to do photos in America, they said they could pay for travel and everything, but we would have to let them borrow some money first, so they could be sure that we would turn up.... He didn't do it funnily enough! Spear-phishing is just social engineering

    When I was at college I "hacked" as in watched my tutor type in his password to our online register system, I could access details about everyone, including university references etc. I didn't make Slashdot, what did I do wrong?

    It would be interesting to use this tool to model spreads of other things, i.e. progress of a new brand or a new band. You could change the model files to be equivalent to the current spread of Firefox for example, then use it to predict future downloads. Anyone know how to change the files? They look quite simple, but I don't have any way of opening them apart form wordpad...

    Recently I have been working for a company redoing their budget model, basically a lot of interlinked spreadsheets. Using the model I made there was a fair difference between my end conclusion and the original messy sheets that cross/circularly linked to each other... I think its defiantly worth rebuilding critical financial models such as this from the ground up and leaving as little hard typed values as possible. In the model I made there was a minimum of input data and everything linked from that. This makes it a lot easier to check mistakes and it enabels every report to be spontaneously generated as and when data is avaliable.
