    Yes you do have a choice. If you buy a computer which has no option to buy without an O/S. Simply take it home and refuse the licensing agreement. Then install your copy of XP you have from your last computer. The company you bought the computer from is obliged to refund the full amount of buying the O/S OEM.

    This is why all games stores allow refunds for 7 days. Because games come with EULA's that you cant read till you open the box. And part of that legal requirement is that the stores offer a refund should you decline the EULA.

    This certainly does not make sense.

    This is like making the government responsible for drug trafficking because they use the roads to get their drugs from supply to demand. i.e. a highschool. So if my child dies from an overdose. I can sue the government for allowing the drug users to use the roads with their cars carrying contraband!

    They should have been able to stop them right? I mean comon? This is absolute crap. Impossible to enforce and punishing the people that you want on the governments side. This will make ISPs and the governments adversaries. ISP's will have regular "failures" and lose all their logs.

    I really think the govt has lost it with this one.

    NB.. Or substitute govt for private company if there is a toll road along the way.

    Most companies don't release demos. Or if they do it is way after the release of the real game.
    So with my bandwidth I can download the demo? or the real thing?

    If the demo was available before release, this game might be on my pre order list.

    The real game has to offer something.

    Starcraft/Broodwars is in my collection. I can play on free servers or the real deal. I have 2 copies aswell so when I have a mate over we lan it up.(Used to)

    Purely single player linear games are a waste of time.

    If I could use the Google internet tubes after hours... I would love to live into/next to the office. LAN up the quake after hours. Gives workers a reason to work a little later. Don't have to spend an hour in traffic each way... Makes people a little more appreciative. A massive apartment building next to any office building is a damn good idea.

    If only they built them in Perth. We don't even have 1.

    HAH. The USA does ban online poker sites. The USA has many sites that will only show you the content you want if you are in the US. (itunes, xboxlive). So yeah following problems with the US (and by association with the FTA Australia)

    1. Copyright fucks the freedom of speech
    2. Bloggers(even anonymous) will soon be sued for defamation
    3.The Government impedes your freedom of speech by discretely blocking websites. Not making a big ruckus.

    I heard that if you run wine on cygwin in windows you create a time-space continuum paradox. Up will become down and the world will cease to exist. Uninstalling xp fixes this bug.

    no they should both have to license them out. Because refusing by refusing to anyone can reverse engineer the technology and then sell it off due to the interoperability clause in the DMCA.     If direct X went to linux/mac i would instantly wipe windows from every machine in my house forever.

    i think that the first post had a point. The point any 4yo would draw... But i thought that by stating the obvious he would promote a reasonable discussion about the direction of Linux now that Novell is M$'s bitch. Even if Suse was poop on a stick the fact that its in Walmart makes it easier to get for the masses who don't want to waste 5Gb++ of their monthly quota on downloading the OS.

    Try adding extra Chlorine instead of relying on the chlorinator.
    Add extra salt and the right amount of Buffer to protect the chlorine from the sun.
    PH balance right.

    Then your pumping time will be drastically reduced.

    They could say the beta period has now expired and forcefully remove any persons unlawfully using their software.
    Its possible and unless something changes, a very likely scenario.

    Dont use maths on this crap.
    Movie costs 140Million to make.
    Gets it all back in the box office in first 2 weeks.

    Therefore given manufacturing costs of DVD's. Each movie should cost 35cents at Walmart if its a blockbuster coz they already made their money?

    No. They don't. There is no getting the cost of development money back when it comes to 99% of the movies being downloaded. In fact the more people who pirate movies the cheaper they become. In asia people dont buy pirated movies and they are less then a third of what we pay for legit copies. Because everywhere you go will be some guy and a set of DVDs with every latest movie for $1.

    I hate DRM. I hate publishing studio's. I hate the MPAA/RIAA. I love Han Solo.

    The thing I hate about this IP Law crap is this.

    What if I write a great novel, and then I sell the rights to a publishing company. They make a lot of money of it and so do I. THen a person of say France, enjoys the book and wants to share it with his friends. There is no French version. He appeals to the publishing company... They dont care. Well what if he sets about translating it and sells copies to all his friends??? Then it becomes a hit and makes heaps of money.

    Does the original author deserve anything? Would these people have read the book if it wasn't in french? FUck no.
    You people can spout crap all day about how "Stealing" is hurting everyone. And stealing a movie stops Tom Cruise from buying another Jet.

    Once you have created something. THats it. It can't be uncreated. Sure you can get credits for your work. But you can't expect to be set for eternity for drawing a cute cartoon or writing a good book. You gotta keep writing keep drawing. Otherwise your no longer contributing. I mean if you work one day at your work place are they going to keep paying you if you quit? Hell no.

    I still get phishing emails and see sites every week. It will be a glorious day when phishing sites and emails can be shutdown within seconds of being setup. This has the downside, that if google can do it with phishing. What if the government forces them to do it with something like pr0n? or build a p2p blacklist?
