    I think that in today's society money speaks louder then the people.
    A president needs hundreds of millions of dollars. This doesn't come out of their own pocket.
    It comes from corporations who want their own back once the candidate is elected.

    The whole system is fucked. But hey "the right to bare arms". Go start a revolt.
    Im sure there is a better leader the W. out there.

    Its nothing to do with creeps. Its privacy. Say if I was a paedophile and somehow had access to these logs. I could stalk the local school. Find a girl/boy that I wanted, and check the plates of the car they go into. Instantly I know what time they usually pick up their kids, how fast they travel, where they go after school and then pick my time and place to abduct them...

    Yeah yeah yeah, you think it won't happen. Can't happen.
    But data is data. And once you start storing it, and successfully catching crims, the people in power will want them everywhere. Then the above scenario becomes possible.

    Or say you like to go and visit ex girlfriends at all hours of the night, your boss / new girls could check up on you without your permission. The possibilities for abuse are endless.

    It may seem like fun at the time, but in the end your only fucking yourself.

    LAN parties are awesome(at uni), and although the level is the same, the game play is different. The people you are playing against is not the computer who will do the same thing every time, but will learn your style and use your moves against you very quickly.

    yeah but unfortunately in some countries/states they only pay you 1/5 of the price they charge you for electricity instead of offsetting it from your bill.
    eg. your array generates 100kwhrs of energy per year, and you use 100kwhrs at night time. you will still have to pay for 80.

    It's not really the problem with the Linux kernel. Its all of the other applications that make up the GNU/Linux bundle.
    If only the same amount of discipline that goes into kernel changes went into all GNU applications. Secure systems aren't that hard to develop. They require proper procedures to be in place to follow while coding to avoid simple buffer overflow.

    All you have to say if they call your bluff is that you are 14 Years old and definitely interested. If they call your bluff again you can report them to the police as a child sex offender. This is treated very seriously by the police and they will most likely refer the case to the FBI.When the FBI gets hold of it, they will track the number and those telemarketers are in for a rough time.

    In the time it takes to get a 70 char decently geared (say 40 days) He didn't say the time to level to 70, he said the time to gear up a 70. Yeah that's what I meant. Getting a 60 in the old days meant nothing until you had some gear to go with it. Runs after runs of high level raid/normal instances.

    But yes. Wow is extremely fun... And I dont even like the guitar. I wouldn't mind trading a crap character (say my Pally) to learn Japanese. But yeah I had an awesome time and still having fun meeting new people and playing with new work mates. I dont think we will ever have a time like this where almost all MMO gamers are on one MMO. In 5 years time we will all be split up playing a myriad of different MMO's trying to coerce your friends into playing the same one as you.

    I agree... WoW is just corperate crack... I have seen a few families break up, lives ruined and people hurt because of this addiction. Sure for people with addictive personalities, its probably better for society then crack since they dont need to steal to pay for wow. But it affects the personality in exactly the same way, until they get to the point where all they think about is wow.

    Some facts. In the time it takes to get a 70 char decently geared (say 40 days) , you could learn to speak a forein language.
    2 70s and you could read/write and speak fluently in that language. Replace this with learn guitar, bongo drums or your mum and the time taken its quite sad really what people are missing out on. Someone like me with 3 70s... Well lets not go there... But since I stopped raiding so often I actually have a social life again... Horay!

Who cares, the ad is a parody and that's that. Everyone knows its a parody and hey, maybe more people will buy ipods to use with their vibrators.

    I think you missed the entire point of the game....
    Starcraft is for Micro. Its all about the micro. Focus fire and all that.
    Supreme Commander is about the Macro. You build an army you send it to attack.
    Most units don't have user controlled special abilities as opposed to Starcraft. (see Starcraft: Psionic storm)

    The whole point of Supreme Commander is to command an army, have a good army composition to counter your enemies. Not to focus fire on one marine at a time and rotate damaged units out.

    So yeah... You missed the point of an awesome game.

    And fair enough.
    The EU is protecting the EU. They could make a law banning Windows all together and it would be LAW.

    They want other companies to be able to produce something that resembles competition. Ie an o/s that can run windows executables. And hey Governments can do what they want with their own laws because they have their own sovereignty. Just because you Americans allow yourselves to be bribed by every corporation you have doesn't mean every other government is.

    I think that what they are doing is a great step forward for interoperability.
