The people who go on and on about pointers are usually the same ones who don't understand the std, or any of the new standards. Or even basic OOP concepts. These are the guys I refer to as "resume-only" C++ programmers.
I agree. And I have a VERY good understanding of templates. Actually because of the pending inflation, that $10 trillion in the future we be like paying off $100 bucks. We will all be carrying $10,000 dollar bills in our wallets.
It's a highly technical and mental game as well as physical. It's a nice fit for nerd types and one hell of a workout. It's also the only chance you will ever have to be between a girl's legs.

You don't need to agree with nubmersusa on every topic, just H-1B. It's the only way to fight back.
Finally, donate money to them. I have and it's paid off. They have been able to thwart several increases to the H-1B cap. Don't be a freeloader - it's your job on the line.
A UI Architect? Are you kidding me? What next, is someone going to claim to be a x86 assembler architect? Maybe you can be an HTML architect, too. Hey, how about you start calling yourself a Microsoft Word architect because you can type really fast?
The market is flooded. For the 2nd year in a row salaries in IT have DROPPED. But Microsoft still claims that we have a shortage of IT people. That's because their goal is to get congress to pass more H-1B increases and flood the market so that IT salaries keep dropping.

Agreed. Unfortunately the nature of FOSS is that it attracts "Nick Burns - Your Company's Computer Guy"-types.

Well, the good news is that you can't blame us for global warming. That bad news is that the sun is about to explode.
Actually, you're wrong. It will compile fine, it just won't run. GCC has been ported to a 286. Mod parent "dumbass."
