But, where are the cards that can generate the sound of one arbitrary object hitting another?
VERY very astute question. 1 gold star for you. I really hate games when you get the same fscking sample every time you pick up ammo or knock into something. There should be 20+ samples for every possible sound so that it doesn't sound so monotonous. And fuck it if the sounds won't fit into RAM, everybody should have 1G these days
According to the bill, the key requirement of heinousness, atrocity, or cruelty can be established if, in addition to other requirements, the game "depicts exceptional pain or suffering on the part of the victim and is accompanied by a graphic depiction of the victim's injuries," and "the circumstances surrounding the violence indicate that it is committed without conscience, pity, or empathy."
What if a game depicts no pain or suffering on the part of the victim, but is accompanied by a graphical depiction of the victim's injuries? Surely its worse if the consquences of violence are not made clear? If you are not reminded of the suffering then perhaps you are not going to be aware of the consequences of violence? Arguably all the programmes like starwars where there is fighting all the time, but noone gets injured, noone gets hurt could be worse in terms of desensitising people to violence?
* Make the cost of living in the US cheaper.
* Make the cost of employment elsewhere more expensive.
* Have higher productivity in the US than elsewhere, to offset the differences.
wrt 1, if there is rising unemployment in the US, then naturally prices will drop because there will be less money to go around all the retailers. so the cost of living will decrease somewhat, so the employed will find that smaller wages will keep them in the same standard of living.

Its a sad day when paraphrasing the article and providing no new information is rated as +5 informative.
How does folding the company stand a chance of increasing shareholder value? Would the board legitimately be able to follow this course of action? Also do you think anybody would invite them to work at their company after that?
No there won't be nanofactories in everybody's homes in 20 years, that's nonsense! I'd be surprised if there were any within 100 years. And it is naive to think they'll be put to use solving the worlds problems.
When I searched for my name, it was more the questions i'd answered geekily on some debian list about 4 or 5 years ago that concerned me. theres loads of them! And the debian lists are very well linked to its been hard for me to pursuade google to give higher priority to my own website, where I can make out I'm not a geek:-)
I think the free version is really buggy as well (c.f. when yahoo changed login procedure it would always crash when you started it, c.f. if you go from a dual monitor setup to a single monitor setup half of your contacts windows won't open depending on which monitor they were last on, et al.)

_stealing_ implies depriving the victim of property. "Piracy" deprives noone of property therefore is not stealing or theft. It is merely infringement of copyrights.
> Technically no laws are broken: data on EU citizens is protected only within the EU and the US Privacy Act only covers data on US citizens.
You are correct, data on EU citizens is protected only within the EU, but equally data on EU citizens is not allowed to be transferred outside the EU to places with less strict privacy laws. This is why MS got in trouble with passport, and this is why US had to negotiate a special deal to get the passenger info.
Myth: CAPPS II will track where and when I travel and will store that information.
Fact: For U.S. persons, information will only be kept for a short period after completion of the travel itinerary, and then it will be permanently destroyed.
So all the passenger data that the EU is leeching to US is being permanently stored - i.e. US is building a database of all EU citizens who have ever travelled to US. scary.
Never a truer word said in jest: the genome is most likely patented, so if you grow this (even accidentally, e.g. wind pollenation) you can be sued by monsanto.
"So now we have to depend on the processor in a $79 piece of asiaware to correctly detect and 'bleep' or otherwise censor dirty words? Please. This reminds me of the so-called "web censoring software" that looked for images with sufficient pixels in the color range of human flesh, and 'decided' that it was pr0n. It had a false positive rate = false negative rate."
RTFA!!!! clearplay scan the films for you and I think it is downloaded to the dvd

yeah but if fox is making loads of money off me, regardless of how happy I am with my wage I would prefer that fox didn't gouge me.

just my two pence.
Why are there so few geek suicides?
all the geeks die when their neighbours windows boxes land on their heads.
In a free market, this means one of three things:
* Make the cost of living in the US cheaper.
* Make the cost of employment elsewhere more expensive.
* Have higher productivity in the US than elsewhere, to offset the differences.

Assimilation Complete.

my god what a dragon
> Someone who abuses a flaw in a game design is cheating.
Is someone who abuses a loophole in the legislature breaking the law?
I would suggest no, though perhaps the law ought to be updated. They are definitely not acting with integrity though...

I can't believe the EU sold us out.
