I love my firefox, I really do. I've been using Firefox 4 Beta for the last 4 months or so!
But frequently I look into my task manager and see Firefox consuming 700-1500MB of memory! It is okay on my computer with 8GB of ram, but still very unacceptable!
When will Firefox become more memory efficient?
I was actually a customer of SimpleCDN about two years ago and I was going to use them for a project that I was starting in a month, but this is just too disappointing!
This solves my question of how they were about 5 times cheaper than Amazon's CloudFront though haha.
I'm a student in the Seattle area and we're trying to set up a hackerspace, but more geared to high school students. If there are cool spaces for students to hang out and work on science/tech projects, we'll be able to get more students interested in science and technology. Link in my sig.
I actually talked to one of the Bing developers about it and it's a pretty slick deal.
The retailers give the discounts to the customer in exchange for ad credits on Microsoft's ad network.
Although this seems like Microsoft's just taking the hit (in terms of lost ad revenue), this is a pretty smart move, saying that:
1. Retailers would become accustomed to using Microsoft's ad network, and spend more $$ on it vs. Google.
2. Since the ads are on an "auction" model, the prices will be bidded up, resulting in more $$ for Microsoft.
Acura does this too - My Acura TSX also has an overhead LED (near the center overhead reading light) which is blue. It's dim enough that it's not annoying, but it makes a cool accent when you put your hand on top of the shift knob.
I think that Bimmers do this too - except that they have red lights.
I'm currently using Virtuozzo (based on OpenVZ) for my website (in my sig) on top of Red Hat...works great. If Red Hat integrated Xen into their OS, that would be even more convienent for webmasters like me:)
Newsflash!
There's a story over at New Slashdot saying that a new study has found that Slashdot addiction has the same effects on people as drug addiction.
Yep, many of my friends use PortableFirefox (although not openoffice since the portable version doesn't work as well, and is slower) because PortableFirefox (my distrobution) has Flash, and the admins have not bothered to install flash on MSIE. That's a real hit to those people who play arcade games in the library. Coral Cache helps too:D.
The Bill Gates foundation is pretty nice. Even though I support Linux, they have kept our school computers very nice. For example, we recieve upgrades almost every two years, and we just upgraded almost a week ago to 2.8 Celeron D's in our whole school. When our network was only 10BaseT, they helped us upgrade to 100BaseT, speeding login times. Of course, there are the disadvantages, with MSIE only, and Word, but there's always PortableFirefox and PortableOpenOffice!
That's great, but what about Startup times for OSses? People need to make Windows and Linux (especially) to boot faster, because already, my Motherboard boots faster than my OS.

Wait until there's a injury that is inflicted on a rich buisnessman. Do you seriously think this can continue?
but wait, there's the AAC format that it's trying to push...anyone i talk to only talk about AAC's...stick with the MP3? I don't think that's what you meant.

Does this remind anyone of the Google Room View photoshopped picture from Gizmodo?
When will it be until mosquitoes evolve energy shields?
I do the same. Bing as homepage, Google as search bar. Works in great combination =]

Is there some new hard drive breakthrough now or something? How are so many hard drives coming out?
Yeah, but only the Japanese have the 100Mbit pipes to download large videos like that, the people in america have 1-4 Mbit pipes :(
Have you ever heard about the unreliability of satellite? No? Well maybe this is similar.
Slashdot had a earlier post about Cisco not supporting IPv6, what about that?

I live in Redmond, actually. So, it makes sense for the Bill Gates and Melinda Foundation to donate to our schools, however not-necessary it is.

According to Wikipeida's list of tier one providers, linked to from the main wikipedia link, Cogent is not listed as a tier one provider.

Remember the article about the libraries using OverDrive for Audiobooks, but incompatible with Apple's iTunes?
If Apple could negociate more compatibility, I think they could serioiusly gain some more marketshare.
Is that before or after taxes? Or is it only in Redmond, WA (I don't work for M$) that people get paid around $100,000?
The author from Animorphs was right! There MUST BE Yeerks, the things that are trying to take over humans!
Great Article! I especially like the part about Google Sound. When's it all starting?
