the Download Sort extension is pretty useful. (*.gz into ~/src, *.jpg into ~/pr0n, etc) I gotta say I do like the font they are using now in FF1.5 in this comment entry box. I think I edited the ~/.mailcap file to fix my *.torrent opening issues...
I used to live in Mastic Beach (Shirley). I have been dabbling in brewing, done a couple batches so far. Gotta go ahead and set up another one soon, since it is cooling off.
well, if u guys can hang out a couple years, the current leaders will be out of office. All I see is a big squabble over who's f%^*&in this chicken, and who's just holding the legs...
I think this is the beginning of the end for DVDs and services around DVDs (Blockbuster, NetFlix, etc). Riiiiight. Not everyone is enraptured with iThings. I doubt people will toss out their dvd players and buy an iPod, video or not, since broadband is not available everywhere (yet). The overall cost associated w/ downloading content might be more than a lot of consumers are willing to pay to watch movies at home.

you crazy leafers, i swear...
how often would you need to update anyway? My birth certificate hasn't changed in 31+ years... my guess is you would merely be adding info. Unless of course, you use some type of encrypted archive file that had to be unpacked, stuff added, and rewritten.
The advertisers must be rubbing their hands with anticipation at the viewing figures.
hell, according to the site they already have a console game planned for xbox 360/ps3 etc scheduled for 2007. Cant' imagine the amount of fuel they will need for these races... I expect ticket prices will be upwards of $150 per seat easily.
I can't wait to try out some 64 bit optimized games like this one. (On teh linux, of course, with Cedega if I have to). I got an AMD 64 3700+ for $185.
I agree. I would rather carry a laptop bag than be seen carrying a man-purse to carry this thing around. I get along fine with my treo 650 for the things I always need available, like secure shell, email alerts, etc.
Xbox _is_ the best console I have seen. Being a long time playstation fan myself, I have to admit that once I got an Xbox (new, for $60), my PS2 has been collecting dust. It just can't compete on graphics without the 480i output. Now, when PS3 comes out... all that may change.
{sarcasm}hmmm, but for how much longer?{/sarcasm} I sure hope they don't try to pull some reverse licensing scheme... let it get all integrated, and then oh... btw, you owe us $799 per proc

like this one? The public channels are off to a certain degree so they wouldn't be able to accurately target what they want to hit. But I imagine if the payload is large enough, the "splash damage" could wreak some havoc

"Oh that's easy! If you have Redhat, you have to download quake_3_rh_8_i686_010203_glibc.bin, then do chmod +x on the file. Then you have to su to root, make sure you type export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 but ONLY if you have that latest libc6 installed. If you don't, don't set that environment variable or the installer will dump core. Before you run the installer, make sure you have the GL drivers for X installed. Get them at [some obscure web address], chmod +x the binary, then run it, but make sure you have at least 10MB free in/tmp or the installer will dump core. After the installer is done, edit/etc/X11/XF86Config and add a section called "GL" and put "driver nv" in it. Make sure you have the latest version of X and Linux kernel 2.6 or else X will segfault when you start. OK, run the Quake 3 installer and make sure you set the proper group and setuid permissions on quake3.bin. If you want sound, look here [link to another obscure web site], which is a short HOWTO on how to get sound in Quake 3.
so, what's so hard about that? A real geek would already be running the latest versions of X, 2.6 kernel, and nvidia drivers...

unless of course the binaries had some code in them that allow a local user to become root. (Link is legit,it's just a security site that announces vulnerabilities and such)
jeeez... looks like you struck a nerve there;) judging by the other responses some people must be feeling the pinch from the increased fuel prices. They aren't all being used by soccer moms though, I have seen a plethora of them rolling around on, what, 24" spinner rims, all decked out in fake gold trim (you know, a faux status symbol). Yet I notice they have all the windows down because gas mileage is so horrible, they can't afford to run the air conditioner
surely that figure includes construction of (a) new building(s), and communications infrastructure. Don't pack your bags just yet :)
256 Gflops ought to be enough for anybody....

you may be on to something there. wonder if the communications companies are in bed w/ the oil industry...

yeah, nessus is a great security application IMO. I can't say I blame them.
