I'm not sure if I would use the word 'mistake'. They didn't accidentally snoop on everyone's data. The only mistake they made was that they got caught.
That idea has already been done a few times, but it's never caught on. The GBA could be connected to the Gamecube with a cable. The best game to use the link was probably Pac-Man vs. One player was Pac-Man, who used the GBA screen and could see the entire maze. The other players were the ghosts. They had their individual split screens on the TV. The ghosts had a very limited view so that pac-man wasn't completely screwed with 3 human controlled ghosts.
Of course, the difference is that with the Wii U the screen is included, while with the GBA-GCN setup you had to buy extra equipment. It wasn't used that often. Penny Arcade had a comic on the people who complained about having to buy all the extra hardware.
I believe the Wii could also connect wirelessly to the DS, but that was never used for anything major to my knowledge.
The dreamcast also had the VMU on their controllers, but it's just not the same when the screen is only 48x32 pixels.
And spending time on Slashdot is a good use of humankind's resources? What is the point of even being human if we can't have a little fun every once in a while?
The amount of data center power consumed would sure be an interesting statistic, but it isn't anywhere in the link. The only two metrics listed other than the publicly available weather are PUE = [Total Building Load (kWh)] / [IT Load (kWh)] and WUE = [Volume of water required to condition data hall air (liters)] / [IT load (kWh)].
Actually, I meant to say the display says "warning", not "danger". The one time I accidentally hit submit instead of preview and it actually goes through instead of telling me to wait longer and this happens.
Pinball machines give you a certain number of warnings when the sensor goes off before you actually lose your ball. Notice that the display says "danger" when he does it and it also seems to give an auditory warning, but I can't make out what it says.
During the game, the players place their left hands on the PEU (Pain Execution Unit) which serves as a sensor and feedback instrument. Possible feedback effects are heat impulses, an electric shock and an integrated miniature wire whip. The feedback generated is dependent on the playing process and can increase in its intensity. The respective opponent can try to alter his or her playing style to purposely change the intensity of the feedback.
Most likely the reason you keep getting mod points and others don't is that you don't visit the site too often. I never get mod points during the times when I read every Slashdot story. Every once in a while, though, I'll get bored and not read Slashdot for a couple of days, and there's almost always mod points waiting for me when I get back.
The scripts track average accesses from each logged-in user. It then selects eligible users who read an average number of times. The homepage doesn't count either. It then picks users from the middle of the pack- no obsessive compulsive reloaders, and nobody who just happened to read an article this week.
As to metamod, Do people really use it that often? I've modded ~30 comments so far, and none of those have been metamodded. That is, of course, assuming that the "Metamoderation Results" setting in the options that sends you a message when you get metamodded actually works.
Nope, the headset is still wired, according to this promo pic.
It's funny how the promo pics never show the power brick. I wonder if it's black instead of the original's gray. Also, what is that short cable that's between the HDMI cable and the component/composite cable? I can't really tell as the resolution is too small, and it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere. Looks like it has a red RCA jack, a yellow one, and maybe S-video?
I haven't played F-Zero GX in a while, but I seem to recall that master difficulty really isn't that hard if you have a good car. Unfortunately it won't help with story mode.
Try the Acro Lynx G4:
Body: Sky Horse Cockpit: Super Lynx Booster: Titan -G4
So, they let the guys who were supposed to subjectively measure which one 'feels' faster look at their ping times? What were they going to say? "No, the one that was 10ms lower didn't really feel any more responsive"?
I bet the results would have been different if they truly had no idea which setup was which.
Yeah, the fact that people who don't have their PS3 hooked up to the internet won't be able to download the patch that lets thm use the playstation network totally sucks.
Don't worry, I'm sure all the important "security" (keeping the system secure from homebrews) updates will come on game discs as well.
Am I the only one who doesn't care about my gamerscore? A lot of the achievements don't really measure skill, but just time spent playing the game. Oh man, that guy beat 30 Xbox 360 games? He's totally better than me who spreads my gaming time among other platforms as well.
On second thought, that was probably the whole point of the gamerscore in the first place. Hey kids, buy more xbox 360 games and you'll get more easy 'achievements' that'll give you a higher number and thus make you better than your friends!
I can not believe that people would pay $300 for a meaningless number. I'm sure that "my number is higher than you" will work amazingly well when they're being pounded in multiplayer.

have too many children because you don't about contraception
Doesn't matter; had sex
Oh yeah? Well there are convenient receptacles spread all throughout my city that I can attach my laptop to and get virtually unlimited battery life.
How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg.

Hey, it worked for the Painstation

It doesn't matter what the "nerds" call us. We don't spend time to learn how a microwave works because we don't care.
It works the same in every country.

Better luck next time, slugheads.

By the way: obligatory Penny Arcade strip

It's easier to just put it in your sig. That way you won't forget.
I bet a lot more people would use hibernation in XP if it was in plain sight instead of hiding until you hold the shift key.
