you're comparing modern day linux to a windows from 8 years ago. of course it will run fucking faster. if you run xp it has the same problem. Your ignorance is actually stunning. The Windows explorer doesn't have current directory and previous directory shortcuts listed because they're superfluous in a GUI interface. They're only useful in a command line context and would be screen clutter otherwise.
